Top 5 Wednesday || November 22nd: Books I Am Thankful For

Ok so I should have done a post the first weekend of October on books that I am thankful for, as that was when Canadian thanksgiving was, I had it already to go, and then instead of hitting publish I deleted it.  Yep. Full on hit delete and boom it's gone. I was so mad at myself. So this one is a

  • My Best Friends Girl
The book shows so many stereotypes still happen with curtain things that should be gone. It's a book that is close to my heart because of adoption. I'm thankful that it shows forgiveness because sometimes forgiving people can be hard.

  • The Devil Wears Prada
I'm thankful for The Devil Wears Prada because I know it's a book that can get me out of any and all of my reading slumps.

  • The Ice Cream Girls
The book is one that a lot of people should read.  It deals with topics that are happening everyday.  I'm thankful because someone has written it.  It's beautifully written and flips stereotypes around

  • Harry Potter
Just because it's Harry Potter.

November Wrap Up and December To Be Read || 2016

Welcome
To another book wrap up and TBR post, this month I got through Eclipse which I am super proud of, because I am not a massive fan of the books. Every time I felt that I was getting a rut, and couldnt carry on reading it I put it down and read a book that I knew were pretty short and that I could get through quickly

November Read

Eclipse

Stephanie Meyer
It took me a whole month to read the book, I am not sure if I have put up my review on the book out yet, but I enjoyed it a little more then New Moon, but still it was a book that I am not a massive fan of the books

The Story of Channon Rose

Channon Rose
The Story of Channon Rose, is a self published book  youtuber Channon Rose, and I really enjoyed it, It is basically an autobiography up until she got in to college and spent all the money she had gotten from a car accident she was in. What I like about the book was at the beginning of each chapter there was a quote and at the end of each chapter was things that she had learnt

The Stripper Diaries

Trisha Paytas
The Stripper Diaries is the second book by Trisha Paytas, she is another YouTube personality, and she was one of the first people from youtube to self pulish her books,  I have done a review on this book, its not a brillaint book at all. It is transcribed from her time as a stripper

The History of my Insanuty

Trisha Paytas
Again another self published book by Trisha Paytas, this is the first one that she released where she talked about her life, its basically her autobiography, I didn't like it that much, ok so I know its about her life, but I would have liked to have seen a different font used and some pictures as well of her as she grew up.

The Mum Minder

Jacqueline Wilson
Ok so this is a book that I have had for years and years, and havent read it in so long and I was in such a mood for a book by Jacqueline Wilson. The Mum Minder is about 9 year old Sadie who had to write a journal for a school project, her mum is a childminder, she catches the flu during the week that Sadie has off school for half term, so the children's parents all take it in turns to look after the children. So the children all go to different place including a police station

December To Be Read

Breaking Dawn

Stephanie Meyer
I am so close to finishing the Twilight saga books and I couldnt be any more happier, I mean the last two books just seem so much bigger then the last 2 books of the Harry Potter series, and yet I loved the Harry Potter Books. But the fact that I am one book away from completing the series is great and I think that I can get it done by the end of the year

Sense and Sensibility
Jane Austin
If I finish Breaking Dawn I will attempt to start reading Sense and Sensibility,

Favorite Publishers || Top 5 Wednesday || November 16th 2016

Welcome

To another Top 5 Wednesday, this one is all about publishers, it was kind of interesting looking through my book shelf to see what publishers I have on them, I have way more then five but these are the top five that I have the most from

Speak
I was actuall surpised by how many books I had that were from Speak. 11 books in total. John Green, Sarah Dessen, Ally Conde and Gayle Forman have books published by Speak

Little Brown

The Twilight Saga, Hate List and Coldest Girl in Coldstowns.

Harper

Lauren Conrad's LA Candy Series and the Lauren Weisburger's books that I have are also from Harper. Also some of my Celceila Ahern books are also from Harper

Bloomsbury

The Harry Potter books are published by Bloomsbury

Simon & Schuster

Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson, and To All The Boys I Have Loved Before by Jenny Han are from Simon & Schuster.

Characters I Used To Love but Don't Any More | Top 5 Wednesday | November 9th 2016

Welcome
To another Top 5 Wednesday, where this week the topic is on characters we used to love but don't any more, it can be either they changed thought the the book/series, your view on them has changed, or you grew out of them.

This week was hard for me to choose my Top 5, and even though it is a top 5 Wednesday I only have four

Edward
Twilight Saga
Stephenie Meyer
When Twilight first got popular around 2008 when the first movie came out, I didn't read the first book until right before the movie came out. I loved Edward from the start, and when I saw the movie and he was played by Robert Pattinson I was totally Team Edward, for the simple fact that the actor and myself are both from England. But now after re reading Twilight and New Moon and reading for the first time Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn soon, I fell out of love with Edward, either I just fell out of love, or I grew up and realized that he isn't the person I thought he was,

Willem
Just One Day/Just One Year
Gayle Forman
In Just One Day I really liked Willem, I found him a really intresting character, who brought Allison out of her shell in a way that her friend couldn't. I really liked him in Just One Day, but when I read (and havent finished) Just One Year, I started to really not like him, and he started to go down in my estimation

Hazel
The Fault in our Stars
John Green
I love The Fault in our Stars dont get me wrong, and I love Hazel, but and this is a big BUT over time I have found that I dont love Hazel as much as I thought I did or as much as I first did when I read the book.

Jacob Black
Twilight Saga
Stephenie Meyer
Even though I am not a massive fan of the Twilight books I actually really liked Jacob in the first book in the series, but over time I jut felt that like Edward I kinda grew out of him, and now that I am reading the books again, I really don't like him.

Most Misleading Synopses || Top 5 Wednesday || November 2016

Hey
and welcome back to another Top 5 Wednesday, this week is all about misleading Synopses,

Because I couldnt think of how to write the intro for this Top 5 Wednesday I basically took it right from the goodreads group
'November 2nd: Most Misleading Synopses
-- Ever read a synopsis and think it sounds dumb, but then you read the book years later and it's actually amazing? Ever read a synopsis and think it sounds amazing, but it actually turns out to be nothing like the synopsis? Ever have a synopsis spoil something that happens 75% of the way into the book so you just spend most of your time waiting for that one element you already know? This is the topic for you.'

13 Reasons Why
Jay Asher
I really enjoyed 13 Reasons Why, but for me it the Synopses didnt do the book any justice at all, I thourght that Clay would have had a lot more to do with why Hannah had commited sucide then he actually did.

To All The Boys Ive Loved Before
Jenny Han
The Synopses made it seem as if the book was in letter form or at least some of it would have been in letter form, when it wasnt I was disapointed, seeing how Lara Jean developed over the years in how she 'loved' these different boys would have been great to see in letter from

Paper Towns
John Green
I have a love hate relationship with John Green book (I own all but An Abundance of Katherines) and out of the books that I do have I havent read one (Will Grayson, Will Grayson) I realy like they way the synopses made the book seemed, but I wasnt a massive fan of the book over all or the way that it layed out near to the end

My Life In Black and White
Natasha Friend
I honestly was so suprised at how good the book was, I thourght it was going to be such a clesahy kind of book, and while some of it was it was done so well that it caught me off gaurd

One Day
David Nicholls
The  Synopses wasnt long enough to give me to much away from the book, but I had preconceptions about it from what was written,

Hey

and welcome to another monthly read and TBR post, it feel like i only just did one of these post,

Animal Farm
George Orwell
I finally actually finished Animal Farm (find out HERE what I thought about it)

The Devil Wears Prada
Lauren Weisburger
I was in a reading slump in September and I started reading The Devil Wears Prada, and finished it in October, it got me out of that reading slump. (Read HERE to see my review)

David Jason
My Life Autobiography
I have had David Jason's book on my shelf for like 2 years, finally I read it and loved it

November To Be Read
If you read my September Read and October TBR you will know that I started and didnt finish Eclpise, at the end of October I picked it up again and started reading it again (you can find that post HERE), I have got further into the book then I ever have before which I am happy about becasue I want to read the series and finish it.
