So if you don't know who Amanda Knox is, she is an American woman who in 2007 went to Italy as an exchange student and one of her fellow roommates British woman Meredith was killed, and Amanda and her boyfriend spent almost four years in Italian prison for the murder. They were acquitted and went back home to America and in 2015 was acquitted again from the Italian supreme Court
There is a lot of controversy around the murder and there is a third person that is currently in prison for the murder.
For me I think it is one of those crimes that I don't think will ever be solved.
Personally I think that Amanda in some way is guilty of the crime even though she has been convicted twice and been acquitted twice. There is something that is very fishy, and not right, with the way that she acts, she speaks, her body language
In a tweet that I put out when I first watched the documentary was that "#AmandaKnox makes my skin crawl. I think she is guilty. How could someone be so cold. Makes me sick".
For me though there were a lot of questions that are left unanswered from both Amanda and her boyfriend.
- Why would you walk in to the house she was renting if the door was already open
- Why did she have a shower after seeing the blood when she first walked into the bathroom, and why at that point didn't she see if any of her room mates where home and OK.
- Why didn't she check before she got into the shower to see if there was any more blood marks in the bathroom
- Why didn't Amanda realize that there was blood everywhere until after she had a shower
- Why didn't she check the house before getting in the shower
- Why didn't she check the rest of the bathroom before getting in the shower
- Why would you go to talk to she talk to her boyfriend rather then to see if any of her roommates were in the house with her, or even if there was someone else in the house that wasn't supposed to be there
- Why didn't she check on Meredith, because to Amanda's own admonition Meredith never locked her door, and her door was locked
- Why did they call the police after the police who returned the phones had arrived
- From what I have also seen but wasn't covered in the documentary was that after the police who returned the cell phones did they call Raffelle's sister before the police. Why didn't they call the police first rather then his sister
- Why did she think it was appropriate to be kissing her 'boyfriend' of a week while her room mate was laying dead just a few feet away in the house
- Was the window in the other roommates room already smashed when she got there or did she stage that part
- That phone conversation that was added in, she sounded so cold and so distant, and the other person was acting as if they didn't even care
- What one thing means in America or said in English, maybe translated differently in other contraries yet she seems not to understand that, with the text she sent to her boss about "See you later. Have a good night" may be translated in to something different in Italy then it would in America or the UK, yet she seems as if it means the same everywhere
- Even if someone was hitting me over the back of my head, I would still tell the truth about what happened that night. If her first statement were true why would she keep changing her stories, even if it was just little details every time
- Why did she think it was OK to yell about how Meredith died when another roommate had said she had hoped Meredith dint suffer to much
- Why would she think its OK to do be doing cartwheels, stretches and kissing her boyfriend in the corridor of the police station
- Why would she think its OK to say things out loud so close after the murder in close proximity to others about sex,
- I understand that she had to get underwear, but what about other clothes, she says that the police wouldn't let her take any of her belongings, clothes included, but she was only seen getting underwear, was she only wearing the clothes that she was in that day.
- In CCTV images that I have seen she doesn't seem really upset that her friend and roommate had been killed. she seemed to be acting 'normal' kissing her boyfriend, making comments about sex,
- If she were telling the truth the whole time, and the police were putting pressure on her why implicate a man that had nothing to do with it. I think that she should have stuck to her story.
- Why would they listen to her story when she lied so many times, Truth will always out live lies. She changed her story to suit them apparently but she was constantly telling a different story. I don't care how long they interviewed her for, if she kept to the same story she wouldn't be tripping over her lies
- So her diary that she wrote in prison was released to the press - the reporter that they had gotten in and interviewed Nick Pisa said he wouldn't revel how he came across the diary or how he would come across any leads - which leads me to think that maybe Amanda leaked her own prison diary, and if that is true then shame on her even more
- Did the police really tell her that she had the HIV/AIDS virus, she is known to have lied in her interviews.
- She says its impossible that her DNA could be on the handle of the knife while Meredith's was found on the blade of the same knife that was found in the house of her boyfriend, Well surely the two of them cooked while they were in his house together, that would explain her DNA on the knife handle
- Why did it take so long to collect the clasp of the bra
- Why was there DNA of Amanda's boyfriend on the same clasp if he didn't commit something towards Meredith
- The other person involved in this whole situation also lied, yet we are supposed to believe Amanda when she also lied. He was on the toilet while Meredith was murdered, (now this is just a part of my theory) He says he saw a man come towards him, he couldn't see who it was because it was dark, dont you think that if Amanda was there she could have easily hid while the other man went into see Meredith and then left while he was in the room.
- It seemed so quick that Amanda had even judged him, without actually knowing if he had done it or not.
- Why in court was she smiling to people. This is not only her life that was on the line here, but her boyfriend or ex boyfriend or what ever he was by the time the court date came around but someone had been killed
- In the days after meeting Raffaele Sollecito, how many times did he come to the house she was staying at, because we know she went to his house quite a lot in those few days they were together yet the first time we know for sure he was there on the day that Meredith died. If he didn't go to the house until that day why was his DNA in the house
- Why didn't they go to the memorial service for Meredith, at that point they hadn't been arrested
- There was reliable evidence that Raffaele was in the room that day its pretty intimate your bra strap, why was his DNA on it.
- Why was the investigation so botched (this is the only time out of everything that I have already said that I am on Amanda's side with)
- Why are we looking at her, well because of her lies, her body language, things that were said to her family, her actions in the days after the murder before she was interviewd, what she had said in her interviews, the way that she acted.
As you can see that I have had a lot of questions while watching the documentary. I am not saying that the police were perfect in this case they were far from it, I think that was because the last murder they had in the town was some twenty years previously so they didn't have any experience of how to deal with the murder. But there have been other cases by Italian police where they havent done a good job either
One of my biggest things is that you don't really see Meredith's family at all, all of 2 minutes at the most in this Documentary, but in 9 years that is pretty small amount of coverage for a family apart from the right after the murder. I understand that they don't want that much publicity, and I understand and heard they are disappointed about the ruling that both Amanda and her ex Rafaelle got off, and to be honest so would I be.
I personally think that they both have more to do with what happened to Meredith's death then they are letting on they did, I personally believe they didn't do it but had something to do with it, and they are covering it up,
Lauren
