July Read and August TBR

Hey

This month I kind of failed at reading, I normally read three books but July I only read one, yes ONE book, the beginning of July I started reading Just One Year by Gayle Forman, and while I love her books I couldn't get in to Just One Year, so I started reading Twilight, even though I have read Twilight before, I took my time reading it

I didn't like just one year as much as Just One Day so I switched to Twilight instead. And it took me longer then I thought it would to read kinda. I had family over for 2 weeks and I didn't feel like reading in those 2 weeks. I had the massive case of the reading slump.  So I only read one and a bit of the 2 books I wanted to read.

I have started reading new moon by Stephanie Meyer.

In August I am not putting so much pressure on myself to read a lot. I want to at least finish New Moon, and start book 3.

Favorite books

Hey

today's post is one on my favorite books

Harry Potter Series
JK Rowling
Because who doesn't love the Harry Potter Series.

The Devil Wears Prada
Lauren Weisberger
As soon as I finished reading The Devil Wears Prada I know I struck gold with it. It's on of those books that I could imagine the characters faces. When the movie came out it was everything the book was.

Hate List
Jennifer Brown
Hate List is a book that made me smile and cry all in one. Even though it's a heartbreaker and deals with such hard topics it's such an underrated book.

Looking for Alaska
John Green
I have a love hate book relationship with John Green books. Out of the 4 that I do own Looking for Alaska is definitely my favorite of them all.

Recent Additions to my Wishlist | Top 5 Wednesday

Welcome to my blog

and this post is today's top 5 Wednesday

Top 5 Wednesday this week is recent additions to your Wishlist. I have to other Wishlist posts HEREand HERE but this one is the one where I narrow it down a bit  to the 5 I wish to read. To check out the July Top 5 Wednesday HERE

The Ice Cream Girls
Dorothy Koomson
Dorothy Koomson is one of my favorite authors and while I wish that I could own all her books The Ice Cream Girls is the top of the Wishlist for her books.

On The Other Side
Carrie Hope Fletcher
I love Carrie's first book so I got exited when she announced she was writing her first novel. Carrie is such a possitive engery.

I Was Here
Gayle Forman
Gayle Forman is like Dorothy Koomson. I love her writing style and how her books flow.

Lola and the Boy Next Door
Stephanie Perkins
Anna and the French kiss is a popular book by Stephanie Perkins and while one day I wish to read that book Lola seems more of my kind of book. It got positive reviews but not a lot of people have talked about it.

P.S I still love you
Jenny Han
Even though I wasn't a massive fan of the first book in the Sereis I want to get the second book to see if it is any better. Check HERE for my review on the first book To All The Boys I've Loved Before

Book Lover's Tag

Hey
and welcome to my blog, today's post is a tag, I know I did one recently but I really liked the questions of this post.

Do you remember how you developed a love for reading?
From my mum. When I was younger she would read to me and as I got older I would start reading books to her and with my dyslexia if there was a word I didn't know she would tell me what it was and meant. I would often have to re read pages again to her if I had gotten something wrong

Where do you usually read?

In bed, on the couch anywhere that I can. Apart from the car.

Do you prefer to read one book at a time or several at once?
I am someone who can only read one book at a time.

What is your favourite genre?
I don't really have a favourite genre. If I see a book that I like or haven't read then I will read it.

What genre will you not read?
Again I don't really have a genre I dislike.

Do you have a favourite book?
I have 2. One from my childhood that really stuck with me. It's the first book I ever remember reading and that's The Suitcase Kid by Jacqueline Wilson.
As an adult I would say My Best Friends Girl by Dorothy Koomson.

What is the worst book you’ve ever read?
At the moment it is To All The Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han.

What is the biggest book you’ve ever read?
Harry Potter and the Order of The Phoinex, and it is one of my favorite Harry Potter books.

What was the last book you bought?
Life of Pi by Yans Martell

Which do you prefer library books or buying books?
Buying books.

What are you reading now?
As I am writing this post I am reading Twilight by Stephanie Meyer.

Books I've Started More Then Once. . . and Finally Finished

Welcome

back to my blog, today's post is on books that I started on more then one occasion

Sometimes I can start a book and finish it without stopping and starting another book and forgetting the book I was originally reading. I sometimes cant help it.

Paper Towns
John Green
I have no idea why it took three attempts at trying to read Paper Towns and when I did finally finish reading it on the forth time I didn't really like it that much.

One Day
David Nicholls
I think I started it once before putting it down and when I picked it up again the second time I actually finished it. I liked the book bit I should have read it before watching the movie

Since You've Been Gone
Morgan Matson
I started this book a few times before I actually finished reading it. I did a whole review on it HERE

The Help
Kathryn Stokett
Every time I would read the book I got a little further and then put it down, forgot about it and re read it. Until one day I finally finished it.  You can read my review HERE

Beauty Haul

Hey

and welcome to a mini beauty haul

Super Stay Better Foundation: Maybelline
I repearched this because the shade I previously got was far to light for my skin tone, so I use that one as more of  a concealer then a foundation and the new one as an actual foundation

BB Cream 9-in-1 Rimmel London
Rimmel is my favorite makeup brand, and I wanted to get something that would be quick and simple to put on so that my make up looks flawless especially in the summer

Fix & Protect Primer Rimmel London
I have never tried this primer before and I really like it, espesally as it has the SPF 25 in it. It goes on so much nicer then some of my other primers. Thumbs up Rimmel

Fit Me Concealer in 110 Maybelline
Fit Me Concealer is one of my favorite concealers I am pretty much out of it so I picked it up

Nivea Soft Nivea
Nivea is one of my favorite brands ever. I love the Nivea soft and the Nivea Creame. I use the soft as my moisturizer for my face and it makes it feel great

Make Up Dissolving Foaming Cleanser Clean and Clear
Clean and Clear makeup dissolving foam is the only one that seems to really work well for me. It washes of 99% of my make up in the first go and cleans my brushes really well.

Life Latley

I very rarely make resolutions in January. I will break them and I know it. That's why I make them when I feel like it throughout the year.

One of the ones I made when the weather started warming up was not to complain about the heat. And believe me it gets hot and I love it. I haven't even complained once since the weather has gotten warm.

One of the best things about where I now live is there is a pool. And I have used it lots.

The first day it was officially open I got burnt. It hurt for 2 days after but then it started peeling and has now gone a really nice brown. I know the photo's don't show how red and burnt I was, I was basically a lobster, I slept very little, I kept waking up every few hours because my back hurt, or the front of my legs.

I have to get rid of the tan lines and I kind of did. I am peeling but its not as bad as it was. My back looked awful, I couldnt reach it to peel it. I am one of those people that love peeling the skin off. My mum loved doing it as well and she would have been in her element with how bad my back was peeling. My legs are peeling but I can't peel anymore of them just yet.

I look like a drowned rat but having a pool is so much fun.

Canada Day was on July First and living 8 floors up I had great view of the fireworks.

I very rarely straighten my hair anymore (I used to do it between 5-10 times a day when I lived back home in England).

There was a really big rain cloud a few weeks ago. But it only covered my place and my dad who lives about a 10 minute car drive didn't have it.
