NOPE. Book Tag

Welcome
To the Nope Book Tag. Like most book tags I do I want tagged to do it but this tag seemed really interesting. Yet on the other hand it was really hard to decide on which book fit for each question and then there were some that were so perfect for it.

1. NOPE. Ending:
A book ending that made you go NOPE either in denial, rage, or simply because the ending was crappy.
  • Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows. Pure and utter denial that something that i grew up with is over.
  • The Ice Cream Girls. Again another denial one. I mean I loved the book so when it ended I was heartbroken.

2. NOPE. Protagonist:
A main character you dislike and drives you crazy.
  • Lara Jean from To All The Boys I've Loved Before. She drives me insane. That I just wanted to slap her

3. NOPE. Series
A series that turned out to be one huge pile of NOPE. after you’ve invested all of that time and energy on it, or a series you gave up on because it wasn’t worth it anymore.
  • Twilight Saga. Now let me start by explaining my self. Years ago when I was younger I had to complete the series either books or movies or what ever. So when I got the first book in the series I had to buy the rest. I couldn't find them anywhere in store so I went online and got them. Well that was a mistake. I hate the story, the plot line the romance everything about it.  And what's even more annoying is that the last two books are completely different then the first two in the fact the first two are more of a paperback kind of feeling

4. NOPE. Popular pairing:
A “ship” you don’t support.
  • I'm not really into ships anyway but I know people like the Scarlet and Wolf sip in Scarlet the second Lunar Chronicles book. For me personally it's the ship I like the least.

5. NOPE. Plot twist:
A plot twist you didn’t see coming or didn’t like.
  • The twist in The Glass wives was really well written. There were so many yet they flowed well together
  • The plot twist at the end of The Ice Cream Girls was also really well done.

6. NOPE. Protagonist action/decision
A character decision that made you shake your head NOPE.
  • Peter's decision to stay in a relationship with Lara Jean. I mean is he crazy. Lara is such a winny baby.

7. NOPE. Genre:
A genre you will never read.
  • I'm not sure if it's even a genre but I never want to read graphic novels.

8. NOPE. Book format:
Book formatting you hate and avoid buying until it comes out in a different edition
  • I don't tend to skip out on books with a format. I don't like short Chapters but I'm sure any version of the book wouldn't change the chapter settings.

9. NOPE. Trope:
A trope that makes you go NOPE.
  • At the moment it's vampires. I can't deal with them in any way shape or form.

10. NOPE. Recommendation:
A book recommendation that is constantly hyped and pushed at you that you simply refuse to read.
  • I Have learned my lesson and I don't tend to buy hyped up books anymore.

11. NOPE. Cliche/pet peeve:
A cliche or writing pet peeve that always makes you roll your eyes.
  • I always eye roll at books that have super short Chapters. I don't mind if it's one or two through the book. But every chapter annoys me

12. NOPE. Love interest:
The love interest that’s not worthy of being one. A character you don’t think should have been a viable love interest.
  • Honestly this is so hard. I think that most romances make the book the book it is. But that is me

13. NOPE. Book:
A book that shouldn’t have existed that made you say NOPE.
  • it's a whole series but the Twilight saga. That shit is so bad and the fact that someone wrote a fan fiction about it and it got published.

14. NOPE. Villain:
A scary villain/antagonist you would hate to cross and would make you run in the opposite direction.
  • Greyback from the Harry Potter Series. I can deal with Voldemort and his death eaters, I can deal with the snatchers and the Dementors but the one thing that I know I couldn't deal with is Greyback.

15. NOPE. Death
A character death that still haunts you.
Fred Weasley. Anyone who know me knows that A) I love Twins and B) Fred and George Weasley have been my favourite characters since I first ever read Harry Potter and it's been hard to find a character I love as much. Sure there's others I like but when Fred died a little bit of me went with him.

16. NOPE. Author
An author you had a bad experience reading for and have decided to quit.
  • I have read some bad books but i don't want to cut any authors out just because I have read a bad book by them.

Spice Girls Tag

Welcome back. Today I have a book tag for you. This one is a Spice Girls book tag.
I was such a big Spice Girls Fan. They were aimed for my age group when I was a kid. Victoria was alway my favourite. So much so that I even copied her hairstyle years later.  And there is even a picture of me wearing a Spice Girls top, and having the same hair cut years earlier.

Baby Spice: a book that made you cry like a baby
  • Hate List by Jennifer Brown. If you haven't read it be sure to have a box of tissues next to you.

Wannabe: a book that did not live up to it’s hype
  • To All The Boys I've Loved Before. So over hyped. Badly written.

Posh Spice: your favorite classic
  • The Great Gatsby. Considering it's the only classic book that I have finished.

Say You’ll Be There: a book that you will turn to again and again
  • Any books I've read by Dorothy Koomson. She can pull me in so easily.

Ginger Spice: a book with a steamy romance
  • It's not a steamy relationship but one that I like and it's Jase and Samantha from my life next door
  • Or it would be Ruby and Nate from Lock and Key, even though they didn't end up together

Spice Up Your Life: a book that picked you up from a reading slump
  • Marshmallows for Breakfast or the Devil Wears Prada are for sure the ones to get me out my reading slump. I love them. Even

Sporty Spice: a book you enjoyed that involved sports
  • Harry Potter books. I mean quiddich would be a brilliant game if it were real and magic existed.

Stop: a book that ate up all your time or caused you not to think about anything else
  • the books I that I have read by Dorothy Koomson. It's something about her writing that jut draws me in and I can't help it.

Scary Spice: a book with a lot of spunk and spark
  • The Devil Wears Prada. Emily is one of my all time favourite female characters and I think she is just brilliant in the book

Who Do You Think You Are: a book with a character that made you want to slap them
  • Lara Jean. My god I wanted to slap her so bad. I found her so bland and boring and as if everything has to be about her. For me she is a classic kind of character that can get me to roll my eyes.
  • Samantha's Mum from My Life Next Door.  She is such a bad example of a mother in my eyes. I know that not every parent will like their child's friends or boyfriends, and that everyone has different parenting styles but seriously get a grip

Ed Sheeran Tag

Welcome
Back to my blog. Today's post is going to be the Ed Sheeran tag.

Shape of You- A book with amazing chemistry
Emma and Dexter in One Day have a great chemistry. It feels like how people in the real world would act.

Castle on the Hill- A book with the best friendships
Fred and George Weasley and Lee Jordan. Best friendship ever.

Thinking Out Loud- A book with the cutest romance
Jesse and Samantha in My Life Next Door
- Honourable Meantion
    - Mia and Adam. If I Stay
    - Ron and Lavender. Harry Potter. I know not a lot of people liked this relationship (and if I'm honest I do like Ron and Hermione together better) but as first relationships go this was so cute.

A Team- A book with characters you wanted to fix
To All The Boys I've Loved Before. This was such an easy choice. I wanted to fix Lara Jean so bad. I found her boring and predictable and bland and plain.

Give me Love- A book with your favorite romance
Harry and Ginny. I actually really like the fact that JK Rowling put them together rather then Harry and Hermione.

I'm a Mess- A book that left you emotionally destroyed
Goodnight, Beautiful. By Dorothy Koomson. She knows how to write a book that can break my heart. Most of the books that I've read by her have broken my heart.  Not in a bad way or anything but just the things she writes about don't really get written about and she dose it so well.

Photograph - A book with the most instagramable Cover
My Best Friends Girl by Dorothy Koomson. Both the uk and North American covers are absolutely beautiful
- honourable mentions
    -  The Ice Cream Girls again by Dorothy Koomson and both North America and U.K. Editions
    - L.A Candy series book covers by Lauren Conrad
North American Cover

Tenerife Sea - A book you associate with Summer
The Rules of Summer. I want to re read it but it's one of those books that isn't great but it's a perfect summer read.

Lego house - A book with a place you want to live
I'd like to live in the Weasley house.

Beauty and the Beast Tag

Welcome back to my blog. With the  release of the new Beauty and the Beast movie this year i thought I'd do the Beauty and the Beast Tag. I'm not a massive fan of Disney. #Controversial but I do like Emma Watson

-  'Tale as Old as Time’ – A popular theme, trope or setting you will never get bored of reading.
Harry Potter series. The first seven books. I am someone who likes the fact that there is all the extras that are coming out, but seriously it's a lot, but the actual books that started it all of will never get old for me. I will never get tired of reading them.

- Belle – A book you bought for it’s beautiful cover that’s just as beautiful inside too.
The UK editions of Marshmallows for Breakfast and My Best Friends Girl are just the most beautiful covers ever. I got them partly for the covers because they are so beautiful, soft, pastel covers. They are just so beautiful. (Also side note the uk and North American cover of The Ice Cream Girls is amazing as well. Totally different but so beautiful. I have the North American version of the book, but want the uk edition because i love it as well. Also another side note. I lent out my first copy of My Best Friends Girl and never got it back and got the North American copy for Christmas and that cover is just beautiful as well).

- Beast – A book you didn’t expect much from but pleasantly surprised you.
Hate List by Jennifer Brown. I thought not would have been ok, and nothing to rave about. In fact I had no idea what it was about. I kept gravitating towards in when I was in the book store and I just got it.

- Gaston – A book everyone loves but you don’t.
To all the boys I've loved before. I don't even wanna talk about it.

- Lefou – A loyal sidekick you can’t help but love more than their counterpart.
Emily from The Devil Wears Prada. Love love love her. She's such a bitch to Andy but loves her job and I think she is just a brilliant character that makes the book that much more better and every time I read The Devil Wears Prada I love her even more. Plus I think Emily Blunt plays her so well.

- Mrs. Potts, Chip, Lumiér, and Cogsworth – A book that helped you through a difficult time or that taught you something valuable.

The Ice Cream Girls by Dorothy Koomson taught me that holding on to something massive can and will lead to disaster.

- 'Something There’ – A book or a series that you weren’t into at first but picked up towards the end.
One Day by David Nichols. At first I didn't like the book, but as I got more into it I really enjoyed it a lot more. There is something about his writing style that keeps you hocked.

- 'Be Our Guest’ – A fictional character you’d love to have over for dinner.

I would say George Weasley. Then we can talk about our love for Fred. But I hate thinking of only having one so I would say the Weasley twins because I can't have just one or the other.

Get to Know Ya Book Tag

Welcome
Back to my blog. Today I have a tag for you all. It feels like forever since I've done a tag. I was inspired by Julie from Pages and Pens to do this tag.

What's your favourite book?
I don't have a overall general favorite book, but the books that I have read by Dorothy Koomson are among some of my favourites.

What was your favourite book 5 years ago?
Marshmallows For Breakfast or My Best Friends Girl by Dorothy Koomson. I am a massive fan of Dorothy Koomson and I think she should be more well known around the world.

Favourite duology/trilogy/series?
Duology would be If I Stay by Gayle Forman or The Rules of Summer
For a trilogy I don't think I've read a good trilogy that I enjoyed
Series Harry Potter

What was the last book you read?
The last book that I fully read was The Pact.

What was the last book of poetry you read?
I don't think I've ever read a book of poetry. I know shocker. Actually thinking about it I may have back when I was at school taking my GCSEs.  Yep that long ago. Way back in 2004/2005.

What book most influenced your life?
My Best Friends Girl. Adoption is close to my heart.

7) Book that made you ugly cry?
Hate List by Jennifer Brown. Damn that book made me laugh and cry and have all the feels. But seriously when I cried it wasn't pretty.

8) Book that made you laugh?
David Jason's autobiography. Some parts of that book literally made me laugh so hard.

9) Character you'd like to be for the day?
Ginny Weasley. I have a lot of love for the Weasley family as a whole. Fred and George are my all time favorite characters and Ginny is also up there. She is definitely my favorite female character is Harry Potter. She's fun, cleaver, beautiful, and totally fearless. She can handle herself well in a family full of boys. She totally could have got lost and forgotten in the books but she didn't. She could have been lost in the fact she had so many older brothers but she stood her ground.

10) A book that was so good you dreamt about it?
The Ice Cream Girls. It was the first one in ages that I have had a dream about. It was that good that even when I wasn't reading it I could picture myself in the situations.

11) Book you DNF'd?
Just One Year is the first one that came to mind. This year I decided not to put to much pressure on myself to finish a book that I am not enjoying. I really didn't enjoy Just One Year that I didn't finish it.

12) what book are you most excited to read?
Goodnight, Beautiful by Dorothy Koomson. Can you tell I am a fan of her work. It's not a new release or anything but it's been on my shelf for a while and I can't wait to read it.
