Goodreads Challenge 2018

Every year I always go through my good reads book challenges and talk about it. This year for the second year in a row I set myself a goal of 24 books. Broken down that’s about 2 books a month, or a book every two weeks. At the beginning of the year I felt that was the perfect amount of reading for me. I didn’t ever imagine that I would read almost twice that amount of books.

44 books including reading Harry Potter books 6 and 7 twice

Longest Book: Harry Potter and Goblet of Fire and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (756). My UK version of Goblet of Fire has no cover, so I have a second copy of it that is a smaller sized book so has more pages. But if I go by UK versions Order of the Phoenix has more pages.

Shortest Book; The Snowman.
Average Length: 363 Pages
Most Popular; Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone. 5,616,833
Least Popular; Disney Year Book 1996

My First Review of the Year; The Next Best Thing. Jennifer Weiner. 1*

2017 Goodreads Book Challenge

For the last two years I have set myself a goal on Goodreads on how many books I want to read. In 2015 it was 20 and I completed that and even though 2016 I started out good and wanted to read 36 books it went down to 30 books which I completed. See HERE for that post. I set myself a target of reading 10 more books for from the previous year and I ended up reading 11 more books then the previous year

For 2017 I don't think I will be able to read 30 books again. So I am going to set myself a goal of 24 books for the whole year.

It will more then likely read a lot more then that but that is just an estimated guess as it's the amount of books that I have written about in THIS post.

Favorite First Sentence's || August 17th 2016 || Top 5 Wednesday

Welcome
Today is another Top 5 Wednesday post and this one is all about favorite first sentences. You can find the Top 5 Wednesday group on goodreads HERE. So lets get stared

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
JK Rowling
"The two men appeared out of nowhere, a few yards apart, in a narrow moonlight lane"
Deathly Hallows is one of my favorite Harry Potter books, and I loved the first sentence of the book. In fact I love the whole first paragraph

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
JK Rowling
"It was nearing midnight and the Prime Minister was sitting alone in his office, reading a long memo that was slipping through his brain without leaving the slightest trace of meaning behind"

Half Blood Prince is again one of my favorite books in the series and the first chapter is one of my favorites in the whole series and the first sentence just speaks volumes

My Life Next Door
Huntley Fitzpatrick
"The Garret's were forbidden from the start"

My Life Next Door is one of my favorite book that I have read not only this year but in a while. The first sentence drew me in

Marshmallows for Breakfast
Dorothy Koomson
" 'Your black' "
For me Dorothy Koomson is brilliant and more people should read her books and her books should be more acessable world wide.

All I know Now
Carrie Hope Fletcher
"I don't know what I am doing"

Books You Feel Differently About || Augaust 3rd 2016 Top 5 Wednesy

Welcome

To the first top 5 Wednesday of August.
The Top 5 Wednesday topic was quite a mix this week and it's on the 5 books you feel differently about.

The Help
Kathryn Stockert
I did a whole review on the help but basically I started it and never finished it, 2-4 times before I read the whole thing. Each time I read it before finishing it I didn't particularly like it. But the time that I read it I loved it.

ps I Love you
Cecelia Ahern
I loved the book when I first read the book. I have re read it and not liked it as much. It was the same with the other 3 Cecelia Ahern books I also have.

One Day
David Nichols
After reading One Day I liked it. Not enough to say it was one of my favorite books but after some time I realized that actually did like it more then I thourght.

Hate List
Jennifer Brown
I feel as if I go on about Hate List a lot but it's one of my favorite stand alone books. Every time that I have read it I have loved it even more. And as many times as I have read it I have cried, laughed and had my heart broken every single time.

Marshmallows for Breakfast
Dorothy Koomson
Marshmallows for breakfast is one of those books that I could read everyday and never get bored of

Recent Additions to my Wishlist | Top 5 Wednesday

Welcome to my blog

and this post is today's top 5 Wednesday

Top 5 Wednesday this week is recent additions to your Wishlist. I have to other Wishlist posts HEREand HERE but this one is the one where I narrow it down a bit  to the 5 I wish to read. To check out the July Top 5 Wednesday HERE

The Ice Cream Girls
Dorothy Koomson
Dorothy Koomson is one of my favorite authors and while I wish that I could own all her books The Ice Cream Girls is the top of the Wishlist for her books.

On The Other Side
Carrie Hope Fletcher
I love Carrie's first book so I got exited when she announced she was writing her first novel. Carrie is such a possitive engery.

I Was Here
Gayle Forman
Gayle Forman is like Dorothy Koomson. I love her writing style and how her books flow.

Lola and the Boy Next Door
Stephanie Perkins
Anna and the French kiss is a popular book by Stephanie Perkins and while one day I wish to read that book Lola seems more of my kind of book. It got positive reviews but not a lot of people have talked about it.

P.S I still love you
Jenny Han
Even though I wasn't a massive fan of the first book in the Sereis I want to get the second book to see if it is any better. Check HERE for my review on the first book To All The Boys I've Loved Before
