April Wrap Up

I feel as if I was in a Reading Slump this month. Ok I read three books but I only really liked one of those books and felt that the other two I just read just to read them.

April was  a Nicholas Sparks month. I read three books of his. I have started a Jodi Pilcoult book in April but mostly Nicholas Sparks.

- The Book Thief
    - Markus Zusack
I’ve seen the movie and I love it. I’ve seen various reviews on the book.  

- Reconstructing Amelia
    - Kimberly McCreight
With Reconstructing Amelia I keep seeing it and think “I need to pick the book up” the forget about it then something jogs my memory and I think “oh yeah. I wanna read that book”

- Revenge Wears Prada 
    - Lauren Wiesburger 
I love the first book of the Prada series The Devil Wears Prada and never knew there was a second book until recently. 

- Room
    - Emma Donoghue 
I’ve seen very few reviews for the book, but those that I have seen are really positive. 

- Gone Girl
    - Gillian Flynn
I’m not someone’s who’s into thrillers. I’ve read my fair amount of John Grisham books (thanks mum) but I want to get into books like Gone Girl 

Favourite Romance Novels

Ok so this is supposed to be a top 5 Wednesday in February but just never posted it
I am not a fan of romance novels at all. But these are books that I like where love is the main storyline

- Safe Haven
If you have ever read a Nicholas Sparks book or seen a movie based on a book by him then you know that he is like the king 👑 of love stories. Out of the two books that I’ve read by him Safe Haven is by far my favourite book of his. (I even love the movie. And think it’s better than The Notebook).

- My Life Next Door
I like when two characters are polar opposites to each other. With My Life Next Door you couldn’t get two people who are so different.

- The Great Gatsby
It’s something about this book that I love. I did the wrong thing and watched the movie first but when I read the book I didn’t see the movie in the book.

- One Day
So I know this book is a lot to do with friendship rather than romance but the underlying theme of the book is love.

January Wrap Up

I set myself a 24 book reader my challenge on Goodreads for the second year running. I feel as if that’s a perfect fit for me. 



- Harry Potter Wand Collection finished January 1st making my Goodreads Challenge 4% and 1 Book ahead of schedule 

- Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince finished January 7th Goodreads Reading Challenge 8% and 2 books ahead of schedule

- Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows finished January 10th making my goodreads 13% Complete and 3 books ahead of schedule 

- Enchanted World of Winnie The Pooh. Finished January 12. Goodreads challenge 17% Complete with 4 out of 24 books read. 

- Spice Girls. The Hottest Band Around. Finished January 13th. Goodreeds Challenge. 21% Complete with 5 books read of 24 and 5 books ahead of schedule 

- The Snowman. Good reads challenge 25% Complete. 6 out of 24 books read and 6 books ahead of schedule. 

- Disney Year Book 1995. 29% goodreads challenge Complete. 7 of 24 books read. And 7 books ahead of schedule. 

- Lola and The Boy Next Door. Goodreads challenge 33% Complete. 8 books complete of 24 and 7 books ahead of schedule. 

- Matched. Good Reads Challenge 38% Complete. 9 out of 24 books read and 8 books ahead of schedule. 

What I do wanna say is that I know I haven’t done any reviews on the main 7 Harry Potter books. Ever. And that’s for the simple fact that I feel a lot of people have already read the books. Know what the whole series is about and that my views on each book reviews would be pretty much the same. That I love them. And I don’t want to post 7 separate reviews basically saying the same just to have seven reviews on my blog.

Books I Want To Read in 2018

Last year I did a post on books I wanted to read throughout the year. And thought I’d do it again this year. 





- The Next Best Thing

I have no shame when it comes to the fact I’m scared to read this book and I have no idea why. It’s got really mixed Rating on goodreads.  

- The Kite Runner

Again I am scared to read this book. It has good ratings on good reads and I’ve not seen anyone do any reviews on it on YouTube but I have no idea what to expect. It seems ok and I will get to it. 

- PS I Love You

I’ve read PS I Love You before but it’s been a while that I can’t remember to much about it. 






- Life of Pi

I’ve seen the movie first which is a big no no sometimes because it means I’m gonna see the movie in the book but still this year I want to actually read the book. 

 The Choice 

I had a bit of a Nicholas Sparks moment last year, and read two books but never got around to reading The Choice and I really want to. 

- Last Night At Chateau Marmont

I am giving the book until September. If I haven’t read it by then it’s going to be donated. 

- All Fall Down

When I have finished this book I think I am going to donated it. I am giving myself until the end of September to read and then it’s gone. 


- The Coldest Girl In Coldstown 
I have tried and failed to read it over the last year but this year I wanna read it. 

- Everyone Worth Knowing 
If I don’t read it by the end of the summer I want to get rid of the book because it’s been sitting on my shelf for years. 

- Will Grayson, Will Grayson
I want to read this book so bad. Just to get it out the way as it’s the only John Green book I haven’t read



- Great Expectations, Jane Eyre and Sense and Sensibility 
I want to actually read this books. I started two of three but never read the other. I never completed the two I started. 

Major Book Hangovers

Welcome to my Major Book Hangover  post. (Though real life hangovers are not that great. Unless you’re experiencing something like the movie hangover where the pictures at the end are just brilliant). This will Be on books that have left both good and bad hangover 

- My Best Friends Girl 

My Best Friends Girl was the first Dorothy Koomson book that I ever read and it’s one that made me laugh and cry and everything in between 

- The Ice Cream Girls 

I had such a book hangover because of The Ice Cream Girls that I read it twice in one year. It’s a book that kept me interested and wondering who actually did the crime.

- Hate List

With this book I felt as if I wanted was to jump into the pages and just hug everyone. 

- The Devil Wears Prada

I’m not a massive fashion person by any stretch of the imagination but The Devil Wears Prada 





- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

I don’t know if many other people feel the same way but when I finished the book it was of my childhood was over.  

- To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before 

Let’s put it this way. You’ve been had way to much alcohol, you’ve been mixing your drinks all night at the next morning your so hungover the smell of bacon and eggs just turns your stomach. That’s what I felt with this book. I wanted so much more from the book. I think Jenny Han had a great opportunity to use the fact that the girls were of a different culture yet she stereotyped them beyond believe.
