Today’s post is 10 book related Confessions.
1. I Never Finished Reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Right Away
I got pretty far though, I think I got about no more than five chapters and the epilogue left to have read that first time. But life took over. I was working a lot, and any free time I was going out with friends. I was generally living my life as an 18 year old.
I have so many books on my book shelf, and a majority of them I never paid full price for.
All but one of my Nicholas Sparks books I paid anywhere between $1.50 and $4.00 for, brand new at the book store they are over $25.
The Pretty Little Liars books I have ( I have 6 books, one is a duplicate, and I think there is between 15-20 of them) and I haven’t paid more than $3 for any of them. Where as one book is normally $18ish dollars here in Canada 🇨🇦.
I always do this but when I get obsessed with an author I always want to buy all of their books, it happened with a lot of the authors on my shelf, and after a while I’ll get bored of reading their books. It happens constantly.
4. Fred and George Weasley and Ginny Weasley Are My Favourite Characters
I will never ever get over Fred’s death it killed me inside.
I have no solid reasons why Fred, George or Ginny are my favourite characters. I always joke around saying that Fred and George are my favourites because I love twins. But I think I like the three of them because they are smaller characters in the book yet they all bring something to the table that no one else for me does in the book.
5. I Totally Judge An Author By The Previous Book I Read
I did this with Sarah Dessen, John Green, Stephanie Meyer, Gayle Forman. Basically anyone that I have read one or more books by. Which is a lot.
Sometimes I am pleasantly surprised. Like with Sarah Dessen. I tried so hard to enjoy Just Listen but couldn’t so when I read Lock and Key I wasn’t expecting much. But in the end I totally enjoyed more than I thought.
With Stephanie Meyer I thought how can it get any worse. I mean I can just about cope with twilight, but after that it went so down hill that it’s put me off reading any other book by her.
6. E Books Are Not My Thing
It’s something about holding a physical copy of a book that I enjoy so much more than actually having an ebook.
7. I Tend Not To Go For Popular Books Right Away
I’ve done it. Plenty of times where the book has been so hyped up that I’ve rushed out and got it. There are a few difference since then. I don’t always have the funds to do that. And the major one. I have found the 99% of the time I don’t think they are worth the hype.
8. Hardback vs Paperback… I Have No Preference
What I do have a preference on is mass market production of a book, while they are great for price, and easy just to put in your bag, and I have a few but I am more of a full sized version of a book.
9. All Of The Dorothy Koomson Books I’ve Read I’ve Not Wanted Them To End.
I want her books to all have sequels. I’d love to see how the characters have developed over years.
I mean how amazing of a book would it be. A romance across the sea’s, with a twist.
