Matched Book Review

Book: Matched

Author: Ally Conde
Pages: 368
Good reads Rating: 4*

Matched is one of those books that is just a breath fresh air. What I like about this book was that even though it’s got a love triangle in it, there is so much other stuff going on that it’s actually nice that the love triangle isn’t the only thing that the book is based on. Cassia could easily be like other girls in her position but she seems to have her head screwed on.

Imagine if your whole life is planned out for you. Your schooling to your activities, who you marry, when you marry to when you die. Your food. What you can read and listen to. What ages you can have curtain things. When you can go to curtain things. What your job is. What happens after you die.

I liked the fact that the book though a typical love story isn’t set like a typical love setting. I like how the characters lives are so different then everyone else.

I can’t really explain why I like this book. Maybe because it’s a different kind of love story setting, or the lives of the characters are so different.

What scares me most about the books is how planned out everyone’s lives. Its scary to think you only have a limited time to do things in and everything is planned out well for you. While it can be a good thing it’s also a really scary thing.

So I know Cassia is the main character but I feel as if she has so much pressure on her because of her Match being so unusual.

I love how even though it’s a love story there is the caring side of Cassia, Xander and Ky for each other and for their friends. In other love stories I find that the friends are left out because of the love aspect of it.

I love book endings. I have no idea why. But Matched is one of those book ending that I find brings a lot to the table and is one of my all time favourites. *spoiler* When Ky is taken away right after the last hiking trip to the end of the book I think is just brilliantly written, it’s heartfelt, heartbreaking but wraps up the book so well
