Books I can’t Believe I’ve Read

Welcome to a Top 10 inspired post for today. On books that I can’t believe I’ve read.

- To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before
It wasn’t the best book. I am someone who doesn’t like all the chapters to be short. One or two here and there is fine. But every chapter is just way to much.

- Beneath The Glitter ✨
When I read BTG I didn’t see aspects of Elle and Blair like it was aimed at but the movie Material Girls with the Duff sisters.

- The Last Song
I was adamant that I’d never read this book that because Miley Cyrus was on the front it would be awful. It isn’t Nicholas Sparks best work but I read it.

- New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn
I liked Twilight but felt that the rest of the series was dull, boring and not that great.

- Thirteen Reasons Why
When I first read the book a few years ago I really liked it. When I re read it last year I was so disappointed with it. I saw half of one episode of the Netflix show and thought they had cast it really badly

- Fan Girl
I didn’t hate Fan Girl but I didn’t love it either. I wasn’t a massive fan of Cath’s but I got over it as the book went on.

Books I Hated But Love To Talk About

Ok so this post should have been post on the 24th as a T5W but I forgot so it’s just gonna be a random post. Just because. It’s all about the books that I hate but love talking about.

I’ve been really lucky and not hated a lot of books.

- To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before

I hate that book. Ok so maybe hate is a strong word. I really disliked the book that when ever a topic like this comes up it’s the first book I think of.

- The Time Travlers Wife

I Disliked the book even though I DNFd it because it was way to confusing. I know that’s the whole point of the book is the guy traveling to different stages and memories but I found it way to confusing and boring

- Beneath the Glitter

For me this is the first real YouTube book and it was just plain awful. It’s another book that I found really suits a topic like this.

Books I Want To Read in 2018

Last year I did a post on books I wanted to read throughout the year. And thought I’d do it again this year.

- The Next Best Thing

I have no shame when it comes to the fact I’m scared to read this book and I have no idea why. It’s got really mixed Rating on goodreads.

- The Kite Runner

Again I am scared to read this book. It has good ratings on good reads and I’ve not seen anyone do any reviews on it on YouTube but I have no idea what to expect. It seems ok and I will get to it.

- PS I Love You

I’ve read PS I Love You before but it’s been a while that I can’t remember to much about it.

- Life of Pi

I’ve seen the movie first which is a big no no sometimes because it means I’m gonna see the movie in the book but still this year I want to actually read the book.

 The Choice

I had a bit of a Nicholas Sparks moment last year, and read two books but never got around to reading The Choice and I really want to.

Last Night At Chateau Marmont

I am giving the book until September. If I haven’t read it by then it’s going to be donated.

- All Fall Down

When I have finished this book I think I am going to donated it. I am giving myself until the end of September to read and then it’s gone.

- The Coldest Girl In Coldstown
I have tried and failed to read it over the last year but this year I wanna read it.

- Everyone Worth Knowing
If I don’t read it by the end of the summer I want to get rid of the book because it’s been sitting on my shelf for years.

- Will Grayson, Will Grayson
I want to read this book so bad. Just to get it out the way as it’s the only John Green book I haven’t read

- Great Expectations, Jane Eyre and Sense and Sensibility
I want to actually read this books. I started two of three but never read the other. I never completed the two I started.

Lola and the Boy Next Door

Title; Lola and the Boy Next Door

Author: Stephanie Perkins

Pages: 388

Started: January 11th 2018

Finished: DNF For The Summer

Goodreads Rating: 2

So with this book, it’s kind of obvious what’s going to happen. It’s a typical YA love/romance book.

Girl dating boy parents don’t like ✔️

That boy is older ✔️

Dysfunctional family ✔️

Girl hates someone ✔️

That someone moves back and she ends up falling in love ✔️

Want to be confused by the names of characters✔️

I felt as if this kind of book had been done a million times before and will be done again. There are similarities between this book and My Life Next Door.

I felt that the book could have been so much more. It’s my own fault though as when ever there are people who rave about books and I end up reading them I don’t like them as much.

I like it when I can imagine characters as if they are off the page. Yet this one I couldn’t.

Right now it’s marked as I have read it because I will come back to it later. Right now I don’t feel in the right head space to finish reading it. I’ll finish it in the summer.

Major Book Hangovers

Welcome to my Major Book Hangover  post. (Though real life hangovers are not that great. Unless you’re experiencing something like the movie hangover where the pictures at the end are just brilliant). This will Be on books that have left both good and bad hangover

- My Best Friends Girl

My Best Friends Girl was the first Dorothy Koomson book that I ever read and it’s one that made me laugh and cry and everything in between

- The Ice Cream Girls

I had such a book hangover because of The Ice Cream Girls that I read it twice in one year. It’s a book that kept me interested and wondering who actually did the crime.

- Hate List

With this book I felt as if I wanted was to jump into the pages and just hug everyone.
- The Devil Wears Prada

I’m not a massive fashion person by any stretch of the imagination but The Devil Wears Prada

- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

I don’t know if many other people feel the same way but when I finished the book it was of my childhood was over.

- To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before

Let’s put it this way. You’ve been had way to much alcohol, you’ve been mixing your drinks all night at the next morning your so hungover the smell of bacon and eggs just turns your stomach. That’s what I felt with this book. I wanted so much more from the book. I think Jenny Han had a great opportunity to use the fact that the girls were of a different culture yet she stereotyped them beyond believe.

Forgettable Books T5W

Welcome to Top 5 Wednesday. It feels like forever since I’ve done one. January is a tough month for me to do Top 5 Wednesday, because a lot of them coincide with some of the Top Ten Tuesday’s, or I’ve already done some post like it. Today’s T5W is all on forgettable books.

- Friend Me

I remember reading it years ago, and literally mean years ago but that’s all I remember.

- PS I Love You

Like always I went through a stage where I wants to read all the books by the same author. After reading PS I Love You I remember thinking that. I ended up getting four more books by the same and reading them but I can’t remember what happened in any of them.

- A Place Called Here

I know I’ve read it but can’t remember much about it.

- The Host

    - Stephenie Meyer

I remember getting the book years ago from Costco. It was around the time everyone was going m crazy over Twilight. Yet I keep forgetting I have it. Mainly because it sits on a bookshelf where I keep the autobiographies I own because it’s too big to sit on the main part of my book shelf.

The Enchanted World Of Winnie The Pooh Book Review

Title: The Enchanted World Of Winnie The Pooh
Goodreads Rating 4*

This is the cutest book ever. I was never really a big Winnie The Pooh kid when i was younger. More of Noddy. But this book is perfect for anybody that is a fan of Winnie The Pooh. There is just enough writing in it. Lots of different things to feel, open, touch and learn about Pooh and friends.

The pictures in the whole book are just so beautiful.

There are pages on each characters that are in the books and movies of Winnie The Pooh, and on the author and Christopher Robin.

It’s perfect for any child or adult that love Winnie The Pooh.

Did I Complete The Books I Want To Read In 2017

Welcome to this post. I know that I have kind of done a few post like this recently but last year I did a big post about books I wanted to read last year. This is all about if I completed it or not

- Just Listen ➖
No. I started it and I ended up DNFing the book. I hated it. Ok maybe hate is a strong word. It’s not To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before kinda hate but still Disliked It.

- Breaking Dawn✔️
Yes. That’s all I have.

- Cinder✔️
Yes I did and I actually liked it. I’d never read a Disney Princess retelling before and never really read much in dystopian either

- Scarlet✔️
Yes I read it. It was ok. Not great and at times was confusing.

- Cress➖
Yes and no. I got about halfway through and got way to confused

- Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them✔️
I can’t remember to much about the book/screenplay but it’s HP and I know that I liked it

- Harry Potter and The Cursed Child✔️
This may be a bit controversial as most people really didn’t like this book/play but I loved it. I think because it was so different then what they imagined it would be is what made them not like it. I liked the fact that not every Potter or Weasley would be in Gryffindor. I liked how they changed everything and made us all think “what if” about things. What I liked about the script was the fact like I said that not every Potter or Weasley will be in Gryffindor and that Albus is friends with a Malfoy.

- My Best Friends Girl ✔️
Of course I did. It’s my all time favourite book without a doubt

- Last Night At Chateau Marmot✖️
Nope. Not even close.

- All Fall Down✖️
No. I started it. Got one chapter in and put it down again.

- Just One Day ✔️
Yes. But that’s only because I wanted to read the second book.

- Just One Year ➖
No. I DNF’d the book. I didn’t like it as much as the first book that’s why I think I DNF’d it.

- Beneath The Glitter ✖️
No. I didn’t reread the book

- Coldest Girl In Coldstown✖️
No not even close. But hopefully at some point in 2018.

13 books that I wanted to read
7 I read
3 I DNF’d
3 I didn’t get to.
