January 2017 Wrap Up

Welcome

back to my blog and my first Wrap Up of 2017.

- Breaking Dawn : DNF
I tried I really did with breaking dawn to read it but I couldn't. I would skip pages. Though I haven't technically read every word in the book I just can't but it's going as read.
HERE is my review

- Just Listen DNF
Just like breaking dawn I couldn't read Just Listen. I have tried on multiple occasions but I just wasn't a fan and so I am marking it as read even though I haven't finished it.
HERE is my review

- The Ice Cream Girls. Dorothy Koomson
The first book this year that I read every word of. Dorky Koomson is my all time favourite author as an adult. Her books just draw me in.  The Ice Cream Girls is just perfect.
HERE is my review
HERE is part one of the Q&A
HERE is part two of the Q&A
HERE is part three of the Q&A

- Harry Potter and The Cursed Child
I was set to be disappointed with the book. But I wasn't. I really enjoyed it. I never normally read books that are set out as script and at the beginning I did struggle with it but I really liked it.
HERE is my Review

- Just One Day
Ok with Just One Day I read it last year but it didn't show up on my Goodreads for 2016 because I don't know why it just didn't, and i know I read it because I started reading Just One Year and didn't finish it. So I am cheating and read a review to refresh my mind on what happened and putting in my January read.
HERE is my review

- Just One Year DNR
As much as I loved If I Stay duology, and loved Just One Day, I didn't like Just One Year that I decided to DNR, it and put it as read because I just can't finish it
HERE is my review

- My Best Friends Girl
My best friends girl is honestly my favourite stand alone book ever. I have done a book recommendation on it. A few years ago I did lend it to someone I know and never got it back, and then got a copy for Christmas. I freaked out.  The feelings you go through in the book are intense. Basically Kamryn gets a card from her former best friend saying she's dying and wants her to adopt her five year old daughter. She hasn't seen her former friend in over two years after finding out that the father of the child is her fiancé. She breaks up with him and she moves away. She deals with looking after a child, a new boss who becomes her boyfriend, the loss of her best friend, the return of her former fiancé, a meeting with social services, being a black woman looking after a white child and everything comes along with it.
HERE is my review

I do have one book that I am almost done with but won't finish by the end of the month. I am almost done but it won't make it

One thing I said in a recent post is that I didn't want to put any pressure on myself to read x amount of books throughout the year and even though this month it seems like I did, I had books that I DNF'd and one that even though I read last year and didn't put into my  2016 Wrap Up. I am happy with the amount of books that I did read and tried to read.

December Wrap Up & January TBR

Welcome
to the last what I read in December 2016 and my  January TBR

On my last month on my TBR was Breaking Dawn and the possibility of reading Sense and Sensibility. Well I read neither book.

I stared Breaking Dawn and have about 150/200 pages left of the book as I am writing this. And at the moment I really can't see me finishing it by the end of the year. I know I could have finished it but it isn't that great and it's giving me a mental block. I am at the point with breaking dawn now that I have decided that I am not going to continue to read it and have taken my bookmark out if it and put it back on my shelf

I haven't read Sense and sensibility either. This month for me reading the books I had planned didn't go to well

BUT I did read one book this month. The Glass Wives by Amy Sue Nathan. I will be doing a book review on it at some point but it basically Evie is struggling after her ex husband and the father of her twin children died that she invites his widow to live with her and a lot unravels with the widow and with Evie's friends

January TBR

Just Listen || Sarah Dessen
It's been on my shelf's for years and as many times as I have tried to read it I will this year actually finish it

Breaking Dawn
They say don't bring negativity into a new year with you. But I have to finish Breaking Dawn just to say I have read it.

January Update

Hey

and welcome back, today I am reaping things that happened in my life throughout the last month.

At the beginning of the month I got up as the sun was rising which for me is a very rare thing for me, I am such a night owl, I think the last time I saw the sun rising like this was when I was about 6-7 years old

Through out December and early January we had no snow what so ever, the last 2 maybe 3 years we have been getting snow in the middle to late January, This was the snow about a week ago, as soon as it melts its back again. I am not a big fan of the snow, I like it when it first falls, and is all white, but as soon as it all melts down, or is driven on and all black I don't like it

Last year I had a doctors appointment for a medical, it turned out that I needed to see a specialist, who I saw in December. He had to do 2 test on me, both really hurt, but I knew they had to be done, and I had to wait 6 weeks for the results, which was the longest 6 weeks of my life, well on Friday 29th I got results for one of the test I had done it was all clear, thank god, but the other one came back inconclusive and had to have the test for that one done again, now I have to wait 4 weeks, and what's better then taking a selfie in the office
Selfie in the doctors
I went to my dad's house, I go every few days or so, and have seen the progress of his house, from when it was nothing until now having furniture and things inside, and it is so beautiful. The picture is taken from door that looks out over the back yard, and looks in on the living room and kitchen, where the red chair is where is bedroom is.

I am going to try and do an update once a month along with all the other monthly post that I do, so let me know how you like it. I hope you all had a great January

January's Read Books

Hey
and welcome back to my blog, this year I have set myself a target of reading 36 books, that is 3 books a month. In January I read 4 books, which is one more then I thought I would have, and means I am over my target by one book, which for me is a good thing

Harry Potter: The Character Vault - Jody Revenson
I got this book for Christmas, my dad and I were in Costco and he had no idea what to get me for Christmas so I saw this and he picked it up. It is really interesting. They say 'don't judge a book by its cover' and that what I did with this book I completly judged it when I picked it up, I knew it would go in depth about charters we love such as Harry, Ron, Hermionie, Neville, Luna, The Weasly Twins,Ginny, Draco, Hogwarts Proffesors, Triwizard Torment, The Death Eaters such as Voldermort, Bellatrix, The Malfoys, and other Charters that were in the books, but I was expecting to see more about some of the other charters that had such a smaller part of the books and the movies, that had a small but important part, such as Seamus, Dean, Lavender, other students from other houses, and some of the family members were not involved.  I would have liked to seen them involved, just because like I said they may not be massive charters in the book, but they had small roles that were important to the story. However I really did enjoy reading this book. It was interesting and I learnt things that I didn't know about the charters that are in the book

Paper Towns - John Green
John Green is one of my favorite authors, Paper Towns is the least favorite of the three John Green's books that I have read, I enjoyed reading it but I enjoyed Looking for Alaska and The Fault in Our Stars a lot more. I had got the book back in the summer of 2014 and have tried to read it 2 or 3 time before I actually read it all the way through.
David Beckham Autobigoraphy My Side
I am a massive David Beckham, He cant do any thing wrong in my eyes. This autobiography goes from early life to the time he signed for Real Madrid, it talks about Manchester United and breaking in to the first team, Sir Alex Ferguson,  England squad including the amazing 5-1 win over Germany, the world cup 1998, to his marriage to Victoria and the birth of his first 2 children

The Great Gatsby - F Scott Fitzgerald
The Great Gatsby is the first ever 'classic' book that I have ever read, I was surprised that I read it, I recently watched the movie, and then read the book, and I am glad that I did it that way because while reading the book I could see how the movie while I read it. I really enjoyed it. It is very fast pace and really enjoyable. I am not the fastest reader in the world and it took me a few days to read 144 pages. The photo shown isn't the version of the copy I have, but the copy of the book that I like

Thanks for reading today post, I hope you enjoyed it. Look out for my next book related post, which will be my February to be read list

January Favorites

Hey

and welcome back to my blog. Can you believe that January is already over. It seems only yesterday that I was doing my 2015 favorites, and now were done January.

If you have been reading my blog for a while you will know that I love the Wake Me Up Foundation. It is such a beautiful foundation, they have recently changed the formula because when I first got it there was no Vitamin C in it before but it is still as fantastic as before. It has to be pretty special for me to find a foundation I love as much as this. As you can see I am almost out of this one and will be starting on the next one soon

Rimmel London
Wake Me Up

I very rarely wear eye shadow, I sometime find it hard just to get right, and when I do I love using the Naked 3 pallet. For christmas 2014 my dad was unsure what to get me so we just happened to pop in to Sephora. I had heard great reviews about Urban Decay products especially the Naked Pallets. When I looked at all three the Naked 3 looked like the best fit for me and it is.
Naked 3
Yes you can see me in the mirror

This month the Lift Me Up mascara has been wonderful for me. I am constantly changing my mascara's and have found lots that I have liked. The Lift Me Up has done its job for me this month, I am on my second one, it pumps up my lashes without looking fake. It smells so fresh and clean when I wear it.

The applicator is one of my favorite kinds as well. I also love the packaging of the mascara.

To give my lashes that extra BAM this month I have also been using the Wonder Lash by Rimmel, it seprates and extends the lashes a little more after using the Lift Me Up. I have use it on its own, and it works so well. Some mascaras will dry and go hard on your lashes just on there own, where this one it dosent go hard, it sits there perfectly

and again the applicator is one of my favorites, its so different then the Lift Me Up apliator but is just so perfect

Thats all for this months beauty favorites.
