First Thoughts
- That I’ve not read the book in ages. I know I’m not a massive Disney fan, or a fan of the science fiction genre that it’s been put into.
While Reading
I know it’s a retelling if Cinderella but it’s actually weird that one of the step sisters is actually nice to Cinder, and that cinder is willing to help her. If Peony has survived I wonder if she would’ve turned out like Pearl.
I love how fast past the book is. I get on well with books that go pretty quickly. Normally it confuses me how fast books can go, but this is done well
There are a lot of similarities between Cinder and Cinderella. The step mom and sisters, the Prince Charming, Cinder being forced to work for example. But there are differences as well. One of the step sisters isn’t as mean as the other before she passed away. Prince Charming isn’t met at the ball, he’s met sooner.
I think that Queen Levina is a lot more wicked than Adri is.
Conclusion
Even though I’ve not read the book in ages, I felt like I’ve not read it at all. It’s been over three years since I’ve read it. I’m not th fastest reader in all the land, but there was a point about 100 pages from the end when I did feel like it just stoped and wasn’t as good.
What I liked about the book was that yes, there are the similarities between Cinder and Cinderella but it’s not identical. You can see the similarities and the differences
Some of what was happening I did feel lie it was way to obvious and just lining up for the next book in the series Scarlet.
