Authors Who I Have A Love Hate Relationship With

Welcome to Authors Who I Have A Love Hate Relationship With.  This is based on if I have read two or more books by the same author (or in some cases tried to).

John Green
  • Looking For Alaska
  • The Fault In Our Stars
  • Paper Towns
  • Will Grayson, Will Grayson

I first heard of John Green about 2012, when the vlog brothers had that big surge of popularity like most other YouTube channels and then around the same time The Fault in our Stars was having massive popularity as well and everyone seemed to be reading it and loving it.
I remember getting Looking for Alaska as the free book on audible and loving the book.
Out of the books I have read by John Green I found that Paper Towns was the weakest of them.  While I liked the concept of the book for me I liked TFIOS and Looking for Alaska more.

For me John Green is one of those authors whose books are either people love or hate

Sarah Dessen
  • Just Listen
  • Lock and Key
Sarah Dessen for me is the one person that I have a massive love hate relationship with. I hated Just Listen so much that I DNF'd it but I loved Lock and Key. It's one of my favourite books that I have read this year so far.

Marissa Meyer
  • Cinder
  • Scarlet
  • Cress
I have read only the first three books of the Lunar Chronicles and I honestly have the biggest love hate relationship with Marissa Meyer.  I liked the first book Cinder, hated the second book and loved the third (of what I have read so far).

Gayle Forman
  • If I Stay and Where She Went
  • Just One Day and Just One Year
I loved all but one of Gayle Forman's books. But I found the second book in her duologys not as exiting or easy to read as the first book. I liked Where She Went as a second book, but Just One Year was a DNF for me.

Nicholas Sparks
  • Safe Haven
  • The Last Song
No matter how hard I try I really can't get into the last song by Nicholas Sparks.  I wanted to love it but couldn't. I couldn't even finish it. But I love Safe Haven.
