Three Month Reading Update
So the first three months of 2017 are over. Is it me or has it gone super fast. One of my goals for this year is not to put pressure on myself to read a book that I don't like. And there have been a few that I DNF'd since January. And I'm ok with that. My goal is to read 24 books this year and even with my DNF books I am 11 books ahead of schedule. Without my DNF books I think I would be about 7/8 books ahead of schedule.
- Favorite book(s) so far
* My Best Friends Girl. Dorothy Koomson
* The Ice Cream Girls. Dorothy Koomson
* Goodnight, Beautiful. Dorothy Koomson
* Cinder. Marissa Meyer
If I didn't mention Dorothy Koomson in this post it would be a travesty. She is my book idol. I love her books so much and always recommend her no matter what.
- Worst book(s) So Far
* Breaking Dawn.
Ahhh. Twilight. Let me say this I am glad it's over.
- Books that have dropped in Rating
* Thirteen Reasons Why. Jay Asher.
When I first read the book it was a four star book. After re reading it went down to a two star book
- DNF books
* Just Listen.
* One Year. Gayle Forman
* Jane Eyre. Charlotte Bronte
* Sense and Sensibility. Jane Austen
I wouldn't say any of these books were bad but for me they weren't great. With Jane Eyre I still have the bookmark in the book so I may dip in and out of it through out the year. But with Sense and Sensibility I found it difficult to get into.
The next three months I hope are as good as the first three months. I'm hoping to at least a Sarah Dessen book (I am currently reading Lock and Key) and to read and finish Scarlet and Cress in the Lunar Chronicles series.
For me to have read 16 books in three months is a big deal even if some are DNF. It takes me longer to read a book then some people just because I am a slow reader thanks to my dyslexia and the fact that I get headaches really quickly if I read (and that's looking at a book, computer, or anything that is super close because I am long sited).
