Review

Ok so it took me a while to get into the book which I am sad about because I was so exited to read it. I have been putting it on and off my Goodreads currently reading I found it so hard to get into. But as time went on I really started to enjoy it.

At the back of the book there is a discussion section, and while I normally like them, this one gave me a headache and I just answered them in this post rather then making them.

Like with most Disney books there is No father figure for Cinder. But as the book goes on the Doctor kind of becomes a father figure in a way.

I can totally see that the step mom was evil and not caring. I find that the one sister who gets ill  is a lot nicer then I imagined her to be as in the Disney movie Cinderella she is evil.  Cinder is the one that has to bring the money in but what I like is that she keeps secrets from her step mother about some of the things she has brought with the money.

In both Cinder and Cinderella they defy the step mother and go to the import ball. Though for Cinder is has a lot worse consequences which lead to her discovering more about her past life. Even though Kai doesn't know that Cinder is different he still tries to be with her and even when he finds out there are still feelings towards her.

What I like about this book was that even though Cinder's step mom is evil one of her step sister doesn't seem that evil like in the original Disney movie Cinderella.

I am not a massive Disney fan or anything, I know enough about Cinderella that I can see the similarities when they come up, but then if they didn't have the similarities then it wouldn't be a retelling.

What I did like about the book was even though it's a fast paced book, each chapter focuses more on one fast pace thing rather then dipping in an out. (If you've read the book you'll understand that a bit better)b it's almost as if each scene has its own chapter.

It's also nice to see that she is not as nïeve as the Disney princess she is baised on but she needs a bit more backbone. I like how she is a lot more accepting of her sister.

The ending of the story completely broke my heart. I liked how betrayed Prince Kai gets when he finds out the truth about cinder.

Overall I liked the book even though it took almost a month to read. In reality it didn't actually take that long to read once I got into it a lot more.
