My thoughts
- Damn I wish I didn't get this as mass market book. I like the size of the book but it's hard on the eyes. I love the size of the book but it was difficult to read because of that.
- Some parts I found better then others. When it got closer to the end and you find out what happens I enjoyed more then the middle parts
- The layout of the chapters were really different and I liked it. Every other chapter is the now, and every other chapter is then. The chapters are great lengths and go into detail about other aspects of what's going on within the book.
- I liked how the families knew each other for such a long time and that because of one awful event it's ripped apart
- It deals with such hard hitting topics. Suicide, teen suicide, death, teen pregnancy, abortion.
- This is definitely one book that shouldn't be judged by it cover. The cover really doesn't do the book any justice
- It is such a heavy book with the subjects covered in it.
- I would have liked the epilogue to have been different. I liked one part about Chris but I wish that everything ended different. *Spoiler Alert* I wish that the two families could have sat down and talked after the trial. Especially Melanie as she struggled to deal with her daughters death.
- Thinking about it a few days later it's almost a Romeo and Juliet retelling with a twist.
- Over all I did enjoy the book. It was different, and shows how something so devastating can have a lasting effect on people. I wouldn't say that I am a massive fan of Jodi Picoult's. This is the second book I've read of hers and what drew me to the book was that it seemed so different to anything I had read before.
- For me the book was in the high 3 * rating on Goodreads but I hate doing the point 5, point 75 thing, so it did get a round 4*.
