Poppy and Serena are two women who met when they were teenagers after both falling for Marcus who was controlling. After Marcus is murdered their life's take a different path.  Dubbed the Ice Cream Girls by the press one is sent to prision while the other gets on with her life and gets married and have children. After she is released Poppy goes looking for Serena to try and get the truth out of her. But Serena is as determined as Poppy to show she is still innocent.

The book follows both Poppy and Serena in the present day and in the past. Showing how they got to where they are.

What I liked about the book is that it shows how life's can be broken by the lies of one person and how it has a ripple effect not only on who he is abusing (Poppy & Serena) but their families and his own.

There is the right amount of love, hate, betrayal, happiness and heartbreak. The subjects of the book I felt was written so beautifully yet it was so heartbreaking. I liked how these two girls were brought together by the man they both loved and ultimately were both to blind and in love to see what was in front of them.

I am a massive fan of Dorothy Koomson anyway, the subjects in the books I have read by her so far deal with everyday subjects that are untalked about, and she deals with them in her books so well.

For me to read a book in a week or under you know  the book has to be good. I hardly put the book down and when I did I wanted to pick it back up just so I know what happened next. It's definitely is a page turner. And I didn't want it to end.

I liked how both Poppy and Serena both went and remembered things about their past. It shows how they have both grown up since what happened to them. Even though they both led very different lives. I like how Poppy wanted to find the truth about what happened, and still wanted to make a mends with her family.

I like how Serena finally deals with what had happened to her. I like how she was finally able to tell her husband what had happened even though she wasn't the person to tell him what or who she was before they met. I think she finally felt able to be honest with not only her husband but herself in the long run.
