October Beauty, Hair and More Haul

Hey Guys

Today I did some grocery shopping, I had to pick up some hair products which isnt bad in its self but I had to look at the makeup which is bad because I am moving soon and I have packed away my makeup that I dont use as much but then I spend money on new items that maybe I really dont need but cant help myself. I did good though as I nearly brought an extra two products but saved myself because they were a bit to much money, So that being said lets get in to the Haul

Makeup

Stay Matte Primer by Rimmel London has been a favorite of mine for what seems like forever, I had brought a lot of primers which I have liked but I really like this and havent picked it up for a while. Its the cheaper out of the two primers that I have got at $9.99.

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Primer is one that I had only started using last month and while I liked it I wanted to try it with the foundation that is always sat next to it in the store. It is quite an expensive primer but makeup at the store that I get my makeup from is one of the most expensive. it cost $10.99

Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25 HR. I am in shade 091 Light Ivory. It claims to be Skin Perfecting, Full coverage. It has been out for quite a while but I have never picked it up before just because it has never really intrested me as I have my favorite products, but today I decided I wanted to try it out. What I like about Rimmel products which you cant really see in the picture is the angle of the lids are slightly angled. Is it just me that likes that? The other selling factor that made me pick it up is the fact that it is a pump foundation and it is in a glass bottle, which for me  I always find that the foundation works better for me if it is a pump and in glass. I was surprised when I checked out and saw that it was cheaper then my Lasting Finish Primer at $9.99

Maybelline Super Stay Better Skin  in shade 10 Porcelain Ivory, is  a product that is quite new to the maybelline line and to the drugstores here in Canada and I saw Judy from itsjudytime do a review on it and when I saw it in the store I had to pick one up to try. For a drugstore foundation it is a bit more expensive then any other product at $14.99, again where I get my beauty products are  more expensive but also I live in Canada and most things are expensive

Maybelline Better Skin Concealer in shade 10 Ivory is the next product that I picked up. I am one of those people who like to pick up the concealer to go with the foundations, and sometimes the foundations work better then the concealer on me or the concealer works better then the foundation, I havent tried either out yet but I will let you know how it works. Its quite expensive for a concealer at $10.99 but I just hope that it works well with the foundation

Hair Care

I love L'Oreal shampoo and conditioner. I have super thick hair that I have to cut every 6-8 weeks just for it to look decent and I haven't found a shampoo or conditioner that works as well as the L'Oreal. I have used other shampoo and conditioner but none have worked as well as L'Oreal. I have always said that my hair is my favorite feature so good hair care is always a must for me. Its a relativley good price at $9.49 a bottle and I tend to get the largest bottles of both

Marc Anthony Deep Conditioners have been a new product in my hair care routine over the last month or two and they are relatively cheap for just the sashays at $2.97

Extras

Colgate Optic White Toothpaste is a wonderful toothpaste. I have a big proplem with mint/Mint tasting products like toothpaste but Optic White is brilliant and I can stand it and it has made my teeth feel really clean.

Veet Face Precision wax & care is a product that I have been seeing on adverts on some youtube videos and wanted to try because I hate going to get my eyebrows waxed all the time. I have a medical condition that makes hair grow really fast and thick so I hope this will work rather then having to get my eyebrows waxed a lot

There we have it, a recent beauty haul, hope you enjoyed it, if there is a drugstore product you think i should try let me know. and I will be doing reviews on some of the products that I have spoken about in this post soon.

September 2015 Favorites

Hello

and welcome back to my blog, Today is monthly favorites, and it is going to be everthing that I have been loving this month.

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Primer, when I did my Reperches or relase post I hadnt tried this primer but I have started using it and I love it. I use it with my Wake Me Up Foundation and it works great. It's so soft and silky and makes my skin feel amazing

Wake Me Up Foundation, what a surprise that this is in another favorites because I love this foundation and I can not give it enough praise. It makes my skin glow and hies my dark under eye circles and my acne scaring and smells amazing. They have just brought out a newer formula that has a Vitamin  in it and that's just as good

One product that is a surprise that I have been loving this month is the Cover Girl Ready Set Gorgeous concealer. While I liked the foundation it isn't one that I would rush out and try, and I love the Wake Me Up foundation but not the concealer this concealer is just beautiful, creamy and sets really well. I cant remember the price of it but at the moment it really is doing a fantastic job

Urban Decay Naked 3 is another product that I have been loving this month. It was a Christmas present from my dad, We had walked pass Sephora and I had never been in Sephora before and wanted to have a look around, My dad ended up buying three of my presents in there and the Naked 3 pallet was one and I have been loving it. The colour payoff has been amazing. I always worry abut wearing eye shadows because I have wierd shaped eyes but I love wearing Urban Decay

My lip combo this month is always changing but the lipsticks that I love is the Kate one's by Rimmel London, they are just amazing, I love the colours of them and love how easy they go on. While I have quite a few of the lipsticks and use them a lot my most favrite is number 113. Its just a nude colour that was out before the nude range (which I havent gotten yet but heard great things about). What  I tend to do is put 113 on as a base if I am wearing a darker shade of a lipstick so that its not quite as dark or vibrant, and it makes it look so natural

That's it for my favorites this month, not a lot I know but as I missed Auguast favorites I didnt want to miss Septembers.

Hope September was a brilliant month for you, and hope that October is just as amazing, see you next time

Make Up Story Tag

Hi

and welcome back to my blog, Its been a while since I have last posted I know, But I am back with a Tag post for you all, its my makeup story tag,

I hope you enjoy

1. How old were you when you started wearing makeup?
Fresh Face Lauren. 2002 Germany
I was around 12 or 13 when I started wearing makeup here and there and then when I was 14 was when I started wearing makeup every day, I think this is around the age that most people start wearing make up
2. How did you get into makeup?
When I first started wearing makeup everyday I got started because my best friend at the time got me in to it, we went out for a night out and ever since then I have worn makeup everyday
3. What are some of your favorite brands?
Rimmel London and Maybeline New York are some of my favorite brands, they are the ones that I have found work really well for me and I have used for years and years.

I do like other brands there have been very few that have worked well for me
4. What does makeup mean to you?
Makeup has given me confidence with my appearance. I never have liked the way I looked but when I wear makeup I feel as if I can be me. It has given me highs and lows but the highs sure do out weigh the lows
5. If you could only wear 4 products on your face what would they be?
Foundation, Mascara, Setting Powder and Lipstick, each one gives me that little bit extra confidence and makes me feel complete
6. What is your favorite thing about makeup?
There are a few things, one is how it has changed and how I have changed using it, I went to just wearing foundation, mascara and lipgloss to adding liquid eyeliner, setting power and eye shaddows, using brushes and blending it in more and not having the foundation line. I also like how I can create different looks,
7. What do you think about drugstore makeup vs. high end makeup?
I don't own a lot of high end makeup, only the urban decay naked 3 pallet and a setting powder, I have nothing against high end products, I just haven't felt the need to spend money I dont have. I am a total drugstore makeup person, and I tend to only go for things that I know work or that are on sale
8. What is one tip of advice you can give a beginner?
Buy brushes, the are a life saver, there are so many different kinds of brushes that you get out there and they really do work.
You need to remember what is good for you may not be right for you.
Don'y go right for the high end makeup brands, try out different drugstore makeup first. Its a lot cheaper ad sometimes a lot better then high brand
9. What is one makeup trend you never understood?
I don't know if everyone one did it but when I was at high school years ago people would have super thin eyebrows and use white eye shadow with white eye liner on the water line

10. What do you think of the beauty community on YouTube?
I think the beauty community is great on YouTube.  I like watching a wide variety of people on YouTube and each of them brings something different to the table. There are some products that I see them review and will go out and buy and sometimes I like it and other times I do not, but that's the whole beauty of YouTube and different people

Hope you enjoyed my Makeup Story Tag, and feel free to answer the questions yourself

Repurchase or Release: FOUNDATIONS

Hey

and welcome back to my blog. Today is the Foundation part of my Repurchases or Release series. Now foundation has always been the bane of my life. Its the one thing out of  all my makeup that makes me feel AMAZING and hides everything that I want to hide, I have found some gems at the drugstore, and others not so much

So lets get in to it

 Repurchase

Rimmel London is one of my favorite drugstore brands, and my favorite foundation is the Wake Me Up foundation in shade 100, It gives an amazing glow, and us the one that I get most compliments on when I am wearing it. It has been the one foundation over the last 3 years that I am happy to  repurchase and have done countless of times. I am almost finished with the bottle that I am using, and I have picked up another one that has an SPF and Vitamin C in it so I can't wait to try that out. I use about 1-2 pumps, and it covers the face amazingly well and it has a little sparkle in it but you wont really notice it to much. It ranges in price between $7.99-$11.99

Fit Me Foundation
Normal to Oily skin
Newer Version
Maybeline Fit Me Foundation is another one that I love and have repurchesed it countless of times, I have one left of the older formula and I have a cupple of the newer formula, and both are amazing, and fit me really well, Again it is a bottle foundation as I find most of them work really well for my skin but its not a pump bottle. Again depending on where you go it depend on the price but I think its aground $9.99 in most places. In the older formula I was shade 115 and in the newer one I am in shade 112. The newer formula of this foundation is aimed towards the Normal to Oily skin types.

Maybeline have another great foundation the Instant Rewind, Its not my favorite foundation of all time, but if i want to do a quick makeup look I would use it, I used two up and even though I dont have any right now it is one that I would repurchase, Its unlike anything i had tried or seen before and gives a light coverage, but makes your skin glowing

Its Kind of sad there is only a few foundations that I have found that really work for me. In this post I am icluding an extra little section. That's because there is a foundation that I tried and I really Liked it but they Changed the formula and that's the.....

Photo Ready Foundation by Revlon is one of those products that I should have snapped another one of their old formulas up because that formula worked amazing and I saw it on sale and tried it a few times and fell in love and then they changed the formula and when I tried the new one I hated it, it was a lot more orange toned on my face, it made my face feel ad look really cakey. Revlon is an expenisve brand of drugstore makeup and I felt that dropping $18 plus dollars on the newer one was a waste of my money

Release:

Now on to the release products, now its not a bash at the brands or the foundations or at the people who love these foundations, because believe me one that I am putting in the Release was in my last monthly favorites

Lets start with that one

Maybeline Dream Wonder Foundation, in July I redescovered it and fell in love with it, but after a while I started getting acne across the lower part of my cheek and  across my jaw line, even going down in to my neck where I would blend out my foundation so i wouldnt get the crazy lines aroud my face. I would wash my face everyday and use the foundation and it wouldnt go away, until someone said it must be your foundation, and ever since i chaged back to my regular foundation my skin has started to clear up, its not completly gone away the acne but its a hell of a lot better then it was before.

Physicians Formula Youthful Wear Foundation is honestly the worst foundation that I have ever owned and the biggest waste of money that I ever spent, It has such a prominent yellow undertone that made me look like I had jumped in orange/yellow paint in the pool, its brush was useless, and it had the worst coverage in all the world. It was so bad that I wanted to take it of right away. Getting it off took a whole lot of face wipes and a whole lot of washing my face. It was about $18 or $19

Maybelie Fit Me Stick foundation is another foundation that I wished I didn't purchase and 100% will not ever do again, It made my skin feel horrible. The price range is really affordable, but it didn't fit my skin tone as well as the liquid foundation. I liked the fact that it has the foundation and the bit in the middle. but for me it didn't work well

As much as I loved the price of the Rimmel London Clean Finish Matte and the fact that it was by Rimmel, I actually hated this product. I love foundations in glass bottles but this was so bad and made my face look orange that I actually returned the product for another different product. There is only three shades in the line and like most foundations I am one of two shades the lightest or the next to light, but I found that the lightest in this shade would have been 4 maybe 5 shades darker then my skin tone, making it look really orange and not well matched on my skin. 100% release

Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Moose Foundation, It claims to be super light weight but there is such a drastic difference between the lowest two shade colors that I either looked like a ghost or like I had been tanning and when it had dried on my face it became so cakey and horrible feeling that I had to get rid of using it because it made my skin feel so heavy. I have really bad acne scaring from my teenage years and it would go in to them and make them more noticeable. It is super hard to get off at the end of the day, and I am defiantly releasing this

I dont really have anything bad to say about the Ready Set Gorgeous foundation from Cover girl, but I have found that if my face inst super clean like right out of the shower clean then it doesn't look as nice as if it is right out of the shower. I am not a massive fan of foundations that are in tubes like this I am more of a glass bottle/pump bottle kind of person, I would release this one just for the simple fact that I didn't like it enough to justify buying another one

Cover Girl Clean Oil Control, apart from the Physicians Formula Foundation I think this is the worst foundation that I have ever used. I am not sure if they have changed the formula or not in the last few years but this is the reason why I changed over to Wake Me Up by Rimmel. I got this foundation and would use it and it would smell like it had been sitting there for years and had gone of like some make up can do over time, I thought maybe that had happened and I had picked up a dud or something so I went and got another one and the same thing had happened, it smelled really bad, So bad in fact that I had two half bottle of foundation sitting on my vanity not being used. The only reason I had picked this up was because the Cover Girl Foundation i was using was discontinue, and I liked that one, this was 100% disappointing, and just like Physicians Formula I wouldn't recommend it to anyone

L'Oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder was such a disappointment, I had heard great things about it, and I picked one up, L'Oreal Make Up is one of the more expensive make up brands and the drugstore and I had hope that it would work. I followed the instructions on how to apply it and it went on great but with an hour it went cakey on my face and then like 'Magic' it would look like I hadn't put any foundation on and I would look like a complete mess. I wasn't impressed at all

So there we have have it. my foundation Repurchase or Release. Hope you enjoyed it, Sorry it took so long to get it posted, If you have any foundation recommendations feel free to leave me a comment. Keep an eye out for the next Repurchase or Release, it will be on concealers, and believe me i love me some concealers.

July 2015 Favorites

Hey

And welcome back to my blog, It seems like only yesterday I was writing my post for June favorites, and here I am writing July favorites. When I was a kid I used to say to my parents "I'm so bored. Time moves slowly" and they would say in return "When you get older time will fly by" when they said that I just laughed and didnt believe them. I wish I had because my goodness does time fly when your older

So here are my beauty favorites of July. Most of my makeup products haven't changed since last month's so I wont add them to this one, I will just talk about the newer products

Make Up

Maybeline's Dream Wonder Foundation is a re discovered product. I was sorting out my beauty products, they were litrally everywhere on my vanity, in fact I had three of these foundations either on my vanity or in my makeup draws, yes THREE, I couldn't believe it. Even more so when one of them was full, the other two went in to the bin and one stayed. Along with the Wake Me Up foundation this has been a staple this month, and I had forgotten how much I really liked it.
Price: $7.99-$9.99
Packaging: The packaging is ok, nothing fancy.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Concealer has been my favorite this month. Again this was a product that I forgot that I had, and when I rediscovered it i thought that it would have dried out because I hadn't used it, but it still works really well, and it just covers the dark under circles so well.
Price: $8.99-$9.99
Packaging: Its a pretty simple packaging, you twist the  top part and it comes out of the sponge. As you use the product you can see it go down.

Real Techniques Miricale Complexion Sponge. Like all my Real Techniques Brushes I heard really good things about them and then when I saw my local Walmart had the the sponge I couldn't pass the opportunity up to buy it and I am glad that I did because it is brilliant, and worth the money
Price: Depending on where you get it depends on how much you will pay, on Amazon and at Walmart it will be between $7.99 and $9.99, on the  Real Techniques website you can get 2 for $11

Hair Care

The Coconut Water Shampoo and Conditioner has been a lifesaver for my hair. My hair has been really dry and straw like this summer, and since using the Coconut Water Shampoo and Conditioner my hair has become how it used to be. It smells amazing and works wonders for my hair and its organic.

Hate List
Hate List is a beautifully written book that I cried actual tears at, and only a small number of books have made me cry actual tears. Its about a girl named Valarie, who is at high school and her boyfriend ends up shooting people that they have put on to a list called the Hate List. Her boyfriend shoots her as she is trying to save another student, and ends up killing himself along with other students, and Valarie has to deal with consequences of Nick shooting people and the Hate List being public, she ends up graduating High school through the hard times, and starts to make a small amount of new friends. I dont want to completely spoil it for you but it's worth the read 1 million %

Bloglovin has been my favorite app this month. The app is an easy place to follow the blogs you love with out having to log on to your computer, It updates you when your favorite bloggers release a new posts. Its so simple to use. It's a free app, Logging in is easy, the layout when you do login is just easy to use and work your way around.

Hope you enjoyed my July favorites, and keep a look out for my next post

Repurchase or Release: PRIMERS

Hey

and welcome back to my blog, Today is the first blog on my Repurchase or Release series that I am doing and its on Primers

Repurchase

e.l.f

e.l.f is a relatively new product in to my make up collection, I have a few brushes, and some other products that will be in a future Repurchase or Release post.
The Primer is $8 and is one of my favorites, Its so silky and soft and my make up goes on so well after I have put this on. I have one in my collection now, but am using up an old primer before i start on this one
This is defiantly one that I think everyone should try out.
Packaging is just a white almost clear
This is 100% a Repurchase Primer.

Rimmel London
Stay Matte
This primer with out a doubt my all time favorite primer, 100% repurchase primer. It just works wonders with all kinds of foundation. It makes my skin feel amazing.
The packaging is just a regular Rimmel London Primer Packaging. I also like this product because it makes your makeup last for over 8 hours, through anything and I mean anything. I would put this on at 9am under my foundation, leave the house for work and the gym and return about at 6pm and my makeup hasn't moved one bit.
The price is really good as well. its between $7 and $8 depending on where you get it from.

Release

Rimmel London
Fix and Perfect

I really dont like this one. Its the one that I have been using through out the month of July and I still have a second one that I will be using up before I start on my other primers. I dont know why but this primer makes my eyes water so bad that it looks like I am crying, the white of my eyes go really blood shot, and just makes wearing makeup unbearable.
Its again the same price as the stay Matte around $7-$8 and its 100% one of the worst primers I have ever used. Never going to buy another one

Side not on this post. I do have another primer that I have picked up by Rimmel London that I have not yet tried, At some point I will get around to using it, but right now its just sitting there.

Hope you all enjoyed the first ever Repurchase or Release post on primers. The next one will be on Foundations.

Repurchase or Release Idea?

Hey Guys

Hope you are well

Over the next few weeks I will be doing a Mini Series that I am calling
Repurchase or Release.

Repurchase or Release is exactly what its sound like. Its blog posts on a product by different drugstore makeup brands that I have used over the years, and I will be giving a little description etc on how I like it and if I would Repurchase or Release it. I will be breaking it down to just  particular products, such as Foundations, Concealers, Mascara's and anything else that I use on a daily basis

I will be giving my own personal reviews on them. What I say about a product is my own views, and may not be what everyone thinks of them.

Why is it called  Repurchase or Release?

I called it Repurchase or Release because there have been so many products over the years that I have loved that I have repurchased them, Hated them that I released them, or Loved them for a while and then released them, and it sounds good right?

Hope you all have a good day, and hope you all stick around for my next post, which is doing to be the Repurchase or Release all on foundations.

Lauren
xoxo

P.S Any Items that I talk about will all be brought by me, unless indicated with in the title and next to the particular product. Any views that I have are my own..
