Repurchase or Release: FOUNDATIONS

Hey

and welcome back to my blog. Today is the Foundation part of my Repurchases or Release series. Now foundation has always been the bane of my life. Its the one thing out of  all my makeup that makes me feel AMAZING and hides everything that I want to hide, I have found some gems at the drugstore, and others not so much

So lets get in to it

 Repurchase

Rimmel London is one of my favorite drugstore brands, and my favorite foundation is the Wake Me Up foundation in shade 100, It gives an amazing glow, and us the one that I get most compliments on when I am wearing it. It has been the one foundation over the last 3 years that I am happy to  repurchase and have done countless of times. I am almost finished with the bottle that I am using, and I have picked up another one that has an SPF and Vitamin C in it so I can't wait to try that out. I use about 1-2 pumps, and it covers the face amazingly well and it has a little sparkle in it but you wont really notice it to much. It ranges in price between $7.99-$11.99

Fit Me Foundation
Normal to Oily skin
Newer Version
Maybeline Fit Me Foundation is another one that I love and have repurchesed it countless of times, I have one left of the older formula and I have a cupple of the newer formula, and both are amazing, and fit me really well, Again it is a bottle foundation as I find most of them work really well for my skin but its not a pump bottle. Again depending on where you go it depend on the price but I think its aground $9.99 in most places. In the older formula I was shade 115 and in the newer one I am in shade 112. The newer formula of this foundation is aimed towards the Normal to Oily skin types.

Maybeline have another great foundation the Instant Rewind, Its not my favorite foundation of all time, but if i want to do a quick makeup look I would use it, I used two up and even though I dont have any right now it is one that I would repurchase, Its unlike anything i had tried or seen before and gives a light coverage, but makes your skin glowing

Its Kind of sad there is only a few foundations that I have found that really work for me. In this post I am icluding an extra little section. That's because there is a foundation that I tried and I really Liked it but they Changed the formula and that's the.....

Photo Ready Foundation by Revlon is one of those products that I should have snapped another one of their old formulas up because that formula worked amazing and I saw it on sale and tried it a few times and fell in love and then they changed the formula and when I tried the new one I hated it, it was a lot more orange toned on my face, it made my face feel ad look really cakey. Revlon is an expenisve brand of drugstore makeup and I felt that dropping $18 plus dollars on the newer one was a waste of my money

Release:

Now on to the release products, now its not a bash at the brands or the foundations or at the people who love these foundations, because believe me one that I am putting in the Release was in my last monthly favorites

Lets start with that one

Maybeline Dream Wonder Foundation, in July I redescovered it and fell in love with it, but after a while I started getting acne across the lower part of my cheek and  across my jaw line, even going down in to my neck where I would blend out my foundation so i wouldnt get the crazy lines aroud my face. I would wash my face everyday and use the foundation and it wouldnt go away, until someone said it must be your foundation, and ever since i chaged back to my regular foundation my skin has started to clear up, its not completly gone away the acne but its a hell of a lot better then it was before.

Physicians Formula Youthful Wear Foundation is honestly the worst foundation that I have ever owned and the biggest waste of money that I ever spent, It has such a prominent yellow undertone that made me look like I had jumped in orange/yellow paint in the pool, its brush was useless, and it had the worst coverage in all the world. It was so bad that I wanted to take it of right away. Getting it off took a whole lot of face wipes and a whole lot of washing my face. It was about $18 or $19

Maybelie Fit Me Stick foundation is another foundation that I wished I didn't purchase and 100% will not ever do again, It made my skin feel horrible. The price range is really affordable, but it didn't fit my skin tone as well as the liquid foundation. I liked the fact that it has the foundation and the bit in the middle. but for me it didn't work well

As much as I loved the price of the Rimmel London Clean Finish Matte and the fact that it was by Rimmel, I actually hated this product. I love foundations in glass bottles but this was so bad and made my face look orange that I actually returned the product for another different product. There is only three shades in the line and like most foundations I am one of two shades the lightest or the next to light, but I found that the lightest in this shade would have been 4 maybe 5 shades darker then my skin tone, making it look really orange and not well matched on my skin. 100% release

Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Moose Foundation, It claims to be super light weight but there is such a drastic difference between the lowest two shade colors that I either looked like a ghost or like I had been tanning and when it had dried on my face it became so cakey and horrible feeling that I had to get rid of using it because it made my skin feel so heavy. I have really bad acne scaring from my teenage years and it would go in to them and make them more noticeable. It is super hard to get off at the end of the day, and I am defiantly releasing this

I dont really have anything bad to say about the Ready Set Gorgeous foundation from Cover girl, but I have found that if my face inst super clean like right out of the shower clean then it doesn't look as nice as if it is right out of the shower. I am not a massive fan of foundations that are in tubes like this I am more of a glass bottle/pump bottle kind of person, I would release this one just for the simple fact that I didn't like it enough to justify buying another one

Cover Girl Clean Oil Control, apart from the Physicians Formula Foundation I think this is the worst foundation that I have ever used. I am not sure if they have changed the formula or not in the last few years but this is the reason why I changed over to Wake Me Up by Rimmel. I got this foundation and would use it and it would smell like it had been sitting there for years and had gone of like some make up can do over time, I thought maybe that had happened and I had picked up a dud or something so I went and got another one and the same thing had happened, it smelled really bad, So bad in fact that I had two half bottle of foundation sitting on my vanity not being used. The only reason I had picked this up was because the Cover Girl Foundation i was using was discontinue, and I liked that one, this was 100% disappointing, and just like Physicians Formula I wouldn't recommend it to anyone

L'Oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder was such a disappointment, I had heard great things about it, and I picked one up, L'Oreal Make Up is one of the more expensive make up brands and the drugstore and I had hope that it would work. I followed the instructions on how to apply it and it went on great but with an hour it went cakey on my face and then like 'Magic' it would look like I hadn't put any foundation on and I would look like a complete mess. I wasn't impressed at all

So there we have have it. my foundation Repurchase or Release. Hope you enjoyed it, Sorry it took so long to get it posted, If you have any foundation recommendations feel free to leave me a comment. Keep an eye out for the next Repurchase or Release, it will be on concealers, and believe me i love me some concealers.
