I did a post like this last year where I got rid of a lot of books, I filled up two big reusable bags and I think I got rid of over 30 books. A few weeks ago I reorganized my bookshelf’s and decided to get rid of more books. This time I am close to 30 books.
My shelf’s are jam packed with books, and because of that there were books that didn’t have a spot and it looked untidy. So every book came of the book shelf’s and if I knew right away I wasn’t keeping the book it went on the floor. Other took a while longer to decide but finally I did it.
There are multiple reasons why these books are being let go of.
* No Interest
* Outgrown
* Won’t ever pick up
* Read and won’t read again
- Beneath The Glitter
I hated this book. It was way to cheesey and such a rip off of a movie with the Duff Sisters.
- Love Anthony
I really wanted to love the book, but I would never get any further than the first chapter and then my brain would shut down and want another book.
I would constantly skip over reading this book. Every time I would look at the book a little bit of me sank because the cover is so damaged. I thought when I picked it up it wouldn’t matter, it was a free book after all, but it did matter.
- The Kite Runner
It’s the same with as the previous book. I would skip over it and the cover is so damaged that it annoyed me
I liked this book a lot, but I am not going to read it again. I’ve read it as much as I wanted to, and now it can go for someone else to enjoy.
I can’t even remember the last time I read it but I have no interest in reading it again.
When it comes to remembering when I got books I am on that, but there are a few books I have no idea where I got them from. And Elixir is one of them. I am not a Hillary Duff fan, I like some movies she is in but not enough to read a book that her name is on.
I am in to minds about The Glass Wives. It was an ok book but I’m glad I read it. I don’t need it in my life anymore and it’s one I would never pick up again. It was pretty cheap when I brought it. So letting it go was easy.
I remember either picking it up or my mum did, and I thought it seemed like a good book, but it’s really not a book that I could ever get into. So I decided I would let someone else enjoy it.
This is one where it was four books in one, or parts of four books in one. The sheer size of the Book always intimidated me that I just never picked it up.
I remember getting this book, it was on a sale table. When I read the back of the book it seemed like a quick and simple read. But it was far from that. It seemed super unrealistic in the first chapter, and I didn’t finish it. I just couldn’t.
I picked up the book because I loved the movie. I tried to read the book on many occasions but didn’t like it.
- Living The Good Life
I had no intention of ever reading the book. It was given to me as a part of the join up thing at the gym.
I didn’t like the book. It’s one of those books that cover a hard topic, you read it and then when you re read it, it’s not as good as you remember.
I have no idea why I have the book. I love The Hills and I really liked Lo Bosworth, but I don’t know why I picked the book up. I never wanted to read it
- Eat, Pray, Love
I can say that I’ve read it. And hated it. I felt as if the author was a bit flaky and when I began to like her it would end up me hating her again
I was never a fan of Sesame Street so i have no idea why I ever got the book. Or why I held on to it for so long.
- If I Stay
I had two copies of the book, and have for years, I had brought a copy, but for some reason the book store wasn’t doing the second book as a stand alone but as a duology in a box. So I ended up with two copies of the same book
Letting go of books isn’t as hard for me now as it used to be. It’s more of a sense of relief knowing that getting rid of books means someone else can enjoy them more and I can get books that I wanted at a later date.
