TTT Character Freebie What Makes A Great Character

This weeks Top Ten Tuesday is a Character Freebie and I decided to do it on what Makes a great character. Weather the character is good or bad. Look at Voldemort vs Harry Potter. Both a great characters for very different reasons. 

I couldn’t think of ten things that make a great character but these seven things are definitely something I look for. 

1. If I Can See Them In Real Life
When I am reading a book I want to be able to have an image of them in my head that would translate to screen.  

2. They Are Portrayed Well  
If a book is made into a movie or tv show I want the character to be played well. I know they won’t get everything but if they are close to what was written in the book then I’m happy 

3. Their Personal Development 
I like to see them grown within the book(s) I think it’s important for all characters to grown not just the main character and I think it should be through the whole book or series of books. 

4. If I Want To Know More About Them
Almost as if they are real people and I am getting to know them as friends. 

5. I Want More Of Them
If it’s a stand alone book and I want that book to have a sequel just so I can see how they have developed over time. I think a great example is My Best Friends Girl. I want to know what happened to Kamryn, Tegan, Luke and Nate

6. I Want Someone Relatable
I want someone who is really relatable that you could see yourself being friends with at some point in life.

7. Be Unpredictable
I like characters who are unpredictable, what ever it maybe I like characters who are different, or not ashamed of who they are.
