Am I Ahead? And By How Many Books: Ahead by 3 books. 7 of 30 books Read

Safe Haven
I started Safe Haven at the end of January and finished it in February.

My Best Friends Girl
Reading My Best Friends Girl is like going back to an old friend you haven’t seen in years, and reading the book just feels so right.

Girl A

Marshmallows For Breakfast

This month I’ve really struggled with what books to read. I’ve started some books, but didn’t feel that I wanted to read them now or ever, so they went into a pile to donate at some point. It’s not that I’m struggling to read any books it just I don’t want to read any books I wanted to read.

Week 8 Feb 22nd Books I Avoided For Ages

For this weeks weekly blog post I decided on books I avoided for ages.

Most of the books have the same reasonings behind them, and that’s I learnt a lesson not to get super popular books right away, because I don’t tend to like the popular books, and I learned I want to make my own opinion on them

- Eclipse and Breaking Dawn
I was intimidated by the books for the longest time, then it was the fact that I started to dislike the whole series. I had the books years before I read them. It got to the point where I would read the first two and loose interest by the time it came to read eclipse that I gave up. I then would start all over again and the same process would happen. Until one day I read the last two books and hated them.

- The Lunar Chronicles
I own the first three books, but it took me a while to actually get them because they were so highly talked about. I had learned my lesson from other books not to get highly popular books right away.

- To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before
I kept putting off buying the book, but at $10, I really couldn’t think of a better time to get it. Sure I could have waited and seen if it was in Goodwill but in all matter of facts $10 really isn’t pushing it.

- Since You’ve Been Gone
I think I got this book as a 3 for $10, or a 2 for $15, I’ve had it so long I can’t remember but I avoided it for ages and the only reason I got it is because it was on sale.

- My Life Next Door
Honestly I absolutely loved this book. It’s a perfect YA book. It’s easy flowing. I don’t think the romance was to pushy and was easy going.

- Coldest Girl in Coldstown
I’ve had the book for ages and is the only book that I am avoiding big time because I am anti whole books on vampires thanks to twilight.

Favourite Couples in Books (Top Ten Tuesday Inspired)

It feels like forever since I’ve done a Top Ten Tuesday. This weeks TTT is all about my favourite couples. I’ve changed it a little and added some that aren’t particularly romantically involved but I like them as couples

Harry and Ginny
It honestly feels like I’m the only one who loves Ginny and Harry together. Everyone would have liked Harry and Hermione to be the couple but for me I think that would have been to easy. The main character and his female best friend. There is the chemistry between Harry and Ginny that feels better.

Ron and Hermione
Again just like Harry and Ginny I think that there is a chemistry between Ron and Hermione that just feels better, I don’t think anyone would be better suited and the fact that Hermione becomes a Weasley and the golden trio are all apart of the same family just brings them together so well,

Kamryn and Luke
- My Best Friends Girl
I loved seeing how the relationship between them developed. It started off really rough, got really good, got really bad and hopefully got back on track because honestly I really love the two together.

Ruby and Nate
- Lock and Key
I love it when two characters can be linked and it not be romantic in anyway. I think it’s sometimes better have a friendship rather than it be romantic and shows that two people can love each other and not have any romantic ties to it.

Kendra and Kyle
- Marshmallows For Breakfast
I like how the author wrote about Kendra and Kyle. I like how it could have gone either way, romantically or just as friends.

Fred and George Weasley
I know this is so close to Valentine’s Day and probably meant to be romantic couples, but I think there is no better couple than Fred and George.

Katie and Alex
- Safe Haven
I like how Katie and Alex relationship developed over time. It could have gone so different because of Katie’s past with her husband,

Week 7. (15 February) Why I Choose To Book Blog

As someone who has dyslexia it shocked me that I am reading or blogging about books. But reading is something that I really enjoy.

In school it was a running joke that I always went to classes I enjoyed. And English was my favourite subject at school.

While my blog started out as a Beauty blog, I found that I was getting bored of it easily, and that I enjoyed reading a lot more. I like make up and beauty and that sort of thing but I felt that book blogging was more what I wanted to do.

There have been times when I wanted to give up blogging and reading but kept going. Like I have said in a previous weekly post, I organize how I am doing my blogging and works really well. For me anyway.

When I Review a book I have a guideline of how I want to write my posts. I am also doing a new and updated way of my monthly wrap ups. Anything that can make blogging easier for me I am doing.

I know that there’s a lot of book bloggers and vloggers, but I feel like we all offer something that’s different. In the books we read, how we review the books and how we come across the books. I’m not ashamed to say that most of my books were on sale, or that I got from Goodwill and that a good majority of those books I got at goodwill were on sale as well.

Why I Don’t Like Jodi Pilcoult Books

I own 5 of her books and have read two of them. And two more I have tried and just couldn’t do it.

I saw a quote that said “Books give me an escape from reality. Even if it’s only for a minutes” - Unknown. But I didn’t feel that with her books.

* Characters
Characters for me is such a big deal, I like to feel connected to at least one of the characters in the book but I couldn’t with any of the characters in Jodi’s books. I think it’s because she has so many charters having their own chapters and such a big gap between each chapter for that curtain character that it’s easy to get lost.

* Chapters
The chapters are so confusing, the length between characters are own chapters and the different text for each character is beyond annoying.

* Font of the Text
I like the font of text to be consistent. I know it brings something knowing that you can tell the difference between charter but for me it’s confusing.

I don’t think all of her book are bad, I haven’t read them all but I have tried to read two of her books and just couldn’t do it. What happened was I was reading Vanishing Acts, and all that happened was I got bored and confused by it.

With a Change of Heart it started out really good but soon got confusing and hit with the multiple characters and fonts, and storylines that could have been told different. I have also read two other books and liked them. I wouldn’t say that they were great or anything but they were ok.

Another thing I disliked was the additional characters input in curtain books that I tried to read. It got way to complicated and the additions to the book didn’t move it along. It just got complicated, boring, uncomfortable and unnecessary. I was hoping that it was down to one book, that I was unfortunate just not to like it, but it was all the books I tried to read.

Books That Have Had An Impact On Me Week 6

For me finding a book that I connect with is rare, and these books have varied reasons why I love them.

- The Suitcase Kid
The Suitcase Kid is the first book I remember my mum reading to me. It is about a girl whose parents break up and her dad gets remarried and has step children and Andy moves between houses.

I don’t know why I loved this book but I did. I don’t have my copy anymore which is sad.

- Vicky Angel
I remember Reading The Book when I was at secondary school, and fell in love with it. It’s such a sad story, about two best friends and one dies after being hit by a car; and visits the friend who survived.

- Harry Potter Series
Most people my age have read the Harry Potter series. I am obsessed with it, and every 2 years or so I read the whole series start to finish.

- My Best Friends Girl
My Best Friends Girl is a book that no matter how many times I read it I fall in love with it.

- The Devil Wears Prada
The Devil Wears Prada is the first book that I remember reading that wasn’t in the YA category. It’s a book that I could re read so many times and fall in love with it.

Just Listen
- Sarah Dessen
This year for my New Years resolutions I wanted to read some books that I have tried to read and DNFd in the past. And Just Listen is one of those books. I started reading it millions of times but didn’t get to far.

January Wrap Up Week 5

This weeks, weekly blog is going to be my monthly wrap up for January 2019. Not every weekly blog will be a wrap up.

Books Read: 4 Books Read
Book Challenge Complete: 13% complete
Am I Ahead? And By How Many Books: 2 books ahead. (4/30)

The Best of Me
- Nicholas Sparks
I really wasn’t impressed by the book at all. I have a love hate relationship with Nicholas Sparks books and unfortunately this is one I hated. I didn’t feel any connection with the characters that in do in his other books

Awight Now
- Michael Barrymore
Michael Barrymore is such a British icon and as a kid I remember watching him on tv all the time. I read his autobiography years and years ago, and I wanted to read something that I knew I could get through quick and still love.

The Brighton Mermaid
- Dorothy Koomson
One of my favourite books ever. I absolutely loved this book both time that I read it. What I love about Dorothy Koomson’s charaters is that she makes them so vulnerable yet so strong.

Safe Haven
- Nicholas Sparks
I wasn’t sure what to read after The Brighton Mermaid but I was gravitated towards Safe Haven because why not.
