Repurchase or Release: PRIMERS

Hey

and welcome back to my blog, Today is the first blog on my Repurchase or Release series that I am doing and its on Primers

Repurchase

e.l.f

e.l.f is a relatively new product in to my make up collection, I have a few brushes, and some other products that will be in a future Repurchase or Release post.
The Primer is $8 and is one of my favorites, Its so silky and soft and my make up goes on so well after I have put this on. I have one in my collection now, but am using up an old primer before i start on this one
This is defiantly one that I think everyone should try out.
Packaging is just a white almost clear
This is 100% a Repurchase Primer.

Rimmel London
Stay Matte
This primer with out a doubt my all time favorite primer, 100% repurchase primer. It just works wonders with all kinds of foundation. It makes my skin feel amazing.
The packaging is just a regular Rimmel London Primer Packaging. I also like this product because it makes your makeup last for over 8 hours, through anything and I mean anything. I would put this on at 9am under my foundation, leave the house for work and the gym and return about at 6pm and my makeup hasn't moved one bit.
The price is really good as well. its between $7 and $8 depending on where you get it from.

Release

Rimmel London
Fix and Perfect

I really dont like this one. Its the one that I have been using through out the month of July and I still have a second one that I will be using up before I start on my other primers. I dont know why but this primer makes my eyes water so bad that it looks like I am crying, the white of my eyes go really blood shot, and just makes wearing makeup unbearable.
Its again the same price as the stay Matte around $7-$8 and its 100% one of the worst primers I have ever used. Never going to buy another one

Side not on this post. I do have another primer that I have picked up by Rimmel London that I have not yet tried, At some point I will get around to using it, but right now its just sitting there.

Hope you all enjoyed the first ever Repurchase or Release post on primers. The next one will be on Foundations.

Repurchase or Release Idea?

Hey Guys

Hope you are well

Over the next few weeks I will be doing a Mini Series that I am calling
Repurchase or Release.

Repurchase or Release is exactly what its sound like. Its blog posts on a product by different drugstore makeup brands that I have used over the years, and I will be giving a little description etc on how I like it and if I would Repurchase or Release it. I will be breaking it down to just  particular products, such as Foundations, Concealers, Mascara's and anything else that I use on a daily basis

I will be giving my own personal reviews on them. What I say about a product is my own views, and may not be what everyone thinks of them.

Why is it called  Repurchase or Release?

I called it Repurchase or Release because there have been so many products over the years that I have loved that I have repurchased them, Hated them that I released them, or Loved them for a while and then released them, and it sounds good right?

Hope you all have a good day, and hope you all stick around for my next post, which is doing to be the Repurchase or Release all on foundations.

Lauren
xoxo

P.S Any Items that I talk about will all be brought by me, unless indicated with in the title and next to the particular product. Any views that I have are my own..

30 Beauty Questions Tag

Hey Guys
And welcome back to my blog, Today's post is a 30 Beauty Questions Tag. I thought it would be a fun little tag to do.

So lets get in to this post......
1. Do you remember your first makeup item?
I do actually, I got a concealer by Rimmel London, even now after wearing make up since I was 14, it is the one product that I will constantly buy.

2. Describe your perfect mascara. Have you found one that fits your specifications?
I don't look for anything in particular in a mascara, I will always try different mascara's and if I find something that I like then I keep using it. Currently I am loving the one by Rimmel and Kate Moss have done together.

3. What kind of coverage do you prefer from foundation?
I like a buildable foundation, because I have bad acne scaring, I like one that will cover it but also let me build it up

4. Favorite high end brand?
I have only tried Urban Decay's Naked 3 Pallet and the Setting Spray, so I would have to say Urban Decay, because I haven't tried anything else

5. What cosmetic brands have you always wanted to try but still haven't?
Makeup Forever.

6. Favourite drugstore brand?
Rimmel London. Out if all drugstore brands Rimmel is the one that have the most products that work well with my skin type, skin tone.

7. Do you wear false eyelashes?
I have never have, I dont know why, its just one of those products that I feel that wouldnt suit me all that well

8. Is there any kind of makeup you can't leave the house without?
The whole thing, I am very self consious, and feel that when I do my makeup it gives me that little bit more confidence. I dont wear a lot of makeup, but it gives me the confidence I need

9. What is your most cherished beauty product?
My makeup brushes, I did a post about them. They have changed the way that my makeup looks.

10. How often do you shop for makeup? Do you like to pick up an item here and there or get lots of goodies at once?
When ever I am out and about running errands, doing my weekly shop I will always look at the beauty section just to see if there is anything that I may want to try out. If there is only one product that I buy or if there is a lot, then I will get them, and sometimes I will not get any

11. Do you have a "beauty budget" or do you spend freely?
I kind of have both, apart from 2 products that I own everything else that I own is all drugstore, I haven't tried any high end products, for the simple fact that 'Can I justify spending x amount on a foundation/eyeshadow what ever it may be when I know that the drugstore have products that work well for me' but when I go to the drugstore I do sepnd a little more freely but within a budget.

12. Do you utilize coupons, reward cards and sales when you shop for cosmetics?
I am going to break it down into each bit, to make it more easy to understand,

  • Flyers; In my apartment buliding we get a weekly bundle of flyers on a Thursday of all the deals that start on the Friday, I will always check to see if there are any deals for the Superstore and Walmart (Superstore is where I get my groceries and most of the time my beauty items and Walmart is Walmart and is in the same vasinity of the superstore)
  • Coupons: When I walk in to the superstore they have a wall of coupons, I will always look to see if they have any makeup, hair care, body care,  coupons on there, the occasional time they will have a really good deal so I will pick up 2 of each, and utilize them on products
  • Sales: If an Item at the superstore is on sale they will have a yellow sticker with the new price, how much you save, but what you have to look at is what shade it is , or what kind of mascara, because they tend to put on sale the products that arent selling quite as well as the others in the same line, even though they are the same products just a different shade,
  • Reward Cards: At the superstore they have a rewards card that can be used throuh out the whole store, where you can get points on almost anything and everything at some point or another. One time if you spent over $25 on any beauty products you would get 2500 points, which if you do it right you can almost get a full face of make up. The points will start piling up, because you have gotten food and other things that have points, and then at some point you can start using your points to pay for things

13. What type of product do you buy the most of?
I don't think that I buy the most of one product, If I need something I will get it, but I will get faze's of buying lots of Mascara's, then concealers, etc so I wouldn't say that I buy any particular product more then any other

14. Is there a brand that you absolutely can't stand?
Cover Girl, I had a really bad reaction to one of the foundations, and I have always found a product that works for me

15. Do you avoid certain ingredients in cosmetics like parabens or sulfates?
Honestly I have never really looked in to it that much, to really understand it to avoid it.

16. Do you have a favorite place to shop for makeup?
I am a big drugstore person. The only High End product that I have tried is Urban Decay Naked 3 Pallet, but my thing is why would I buy high end products when I have products from Drugstore that work so well for me

17. Do you like trying new skincare products or do you keep to a certain routine?
I keep to a certain routine, It works really well for me at the moment, so until the day it doesn't work I will change but right now it is working really well

18. Favorite bath & body brand?
I love Nivea. They have amazing, bath and body products that smell amazing.

19. If you could only buy from one brand, which would you choose?
This is such an easy one for me, Rimmel London, a large majority of the products from Rimmel work so well for me, I love almost all of the products, and they are so well packaged and priced for drugstore,

20. What brand do you think has the best packaging?
Rimmel London, I love the packaging on the Wake me up foundation, the glass bottle the shape of it etc. other brands have good packaging but Rimmel have blown it out the water with there packaging. Its not just the wake me up foundation, I love the packaging of the lipsticks, Mascara's, everything

21. Which celebrity always has great makeup?
Coleen Rooney
Coleen Rooney and Victoria Beckham are my two all time favorite celebritys, their makeup is always on point, their fashion. They both have fragrances I love. But their makeup is always so flawless

22. Do you belong to any online makeup communities?
I wouldnt say that I do belong to any makeup communities, I watch different kinds of beauty gurus on youtube, read different beauty blogs, but I wouldnt say that I belong to any of them

23. Five favorite beauty gurus?

Chanel Boateng,Zoe from MammafulZo, Laura from What Laura Loves. There are so many more people that I really like, but I love watching and reading people who dont have millions of subscribers that should

24. Do you like multi-functional products like lip and cheek stains?
Not really, but then it also depends on the product, something like a cheek stain freaks me out going anywhere near my lips, the same with eye shadows, but when I was younger I would put concealer on my lips, because when I was a teen that was all the rage, but for the most part now if its for my cheeks then i will use it for me cheeks, if its for my lips then its going on my lips

25. Are you clumsy at putting on makeup?
When I am using something that I have never used before then yes I am very clumsy, but over time getting used to the product, I normally get quite good at it.

26. Do you use makeup base/primer for the eyes?
I do sometimes. If I am going to wear eye shadow, but I don't wear eye shadow everyday,

27. How many hair products do you use on a typical day?
Quite a few. between 2 and 10 products depending on the day and what I do that day to my hair.

28. What do you apply first, concealer or foundation?
Foundation, It covers the majority and then when Foundation is done I know roughly where I need to put concealer

29. Do you ever consider taking makeup classes?
I would. There is so much that I don't know how to do and I would love to learn how to do different looks, etc

30. What do you love about makeup?
There is so many different things I love about Makeup. The fact that everyday I get to create a look that is slightly different to the one that I created the day before, and that tomorrows look will be different again.  No day is ever alike.

Well that's the 30 Questions done, Hope you all enjoyed it and feel free to do the tag yourself.

My Brush Collection

Hey

and welcome back.

Today's post is all about my Makeup Brush collection.

e.l.f Brushes

e.l.f
Angled Blush Brush
e.l.f
Small Stippling Brush

Honestly these two brushes are a waste of money. For $8 each I wish that I hadn't brought them.

The Stippling Brush works well for half the face and then when I get to the other side it just seems to pick up all the product and not let go of it and makes that half of my face look streaky and awful. So much so that I have had to go over it with another brush to get the foundation to actually sit on my face.

The Angled Blush Brush again is really bad, but in another way altogether. It dosen't pick up any of the products, and I mean NOTHING.

 Eco Tools
Angled
Eye Shadow

Foundation

Eco Tools are pretty good over all. They do the job really well. The angled eyebrow brush (first picture) I find also works really well if you want to do a smoky eye.
The eye shadow brush I found works really well with Urban Decay Naked 3 Pallet.
The Foundation Brush was the first ever makeup brush that I ever brought, and I really liked it, The only problem i found was when I brought a 'brush cleaner' the brush just fell apart, The bristles where all over my face, they fell out on to my vanity, they would fall in to my hands. It was just a complete mess. I think it was the Brush cleaner because i followed the instructions and they still fell out, since i changed my brush cleaning routine I haven't had any brushes fall apart like that

Angled Brush Price I believe was around $3.99, but I can't find it on amazon so i think it may be discontinuted. Just keep an eye out for it at your local drugstore
Eye Shaddow Price $9.99 for 2
Foundation Price $6.99

Real Techniques Brushes

Before I start going in to the Real Techniques brushes that I own, they are all synthetic brushes, and animal cruelty free. I haven't got any of the Bold Brushes but I am keeping y eye out to see if they come in to the stores. The brushes are by Sam and Nic Chapman, who have an amazing YouTube channel Pixiwoo, so check them out

Travel Essentials
Travel Essentials
Brushes in the Travel: Essential Foundation Brush, Domed Shadow Brush and the Multi Task Brush, It also comes in a 2-in-1 Brush Case
PRICE: In Walmart where I got mine its around $18-$19 and that is no Tax,

I first got this set about 2 years ago when my old foundation brush had fallen apart, I had seen really good reviews about Real Techniques Brushes. When I got them I was a bit unsure just because I had only started using a foundation brush about 10 months before, and wasn't sure if i was happy to drop $18 on 3 brushes but it honestly is the best $18 that I have ever spent, my make up looks flawless, the brushes are all synthetic bristles and are so soft, they are great if you are Vegan as they are cruelty free (I am not Vegan but its good information if you are). They are super easy to clean. I do find with the eye shadow brush that it doesn't pick up all of the shadows I own, but you can also use it as  a concealer blender as well as a eye shadow brush

Starter Set

Brushes in the Starter: Deluxe Crease Brush, Base Shadow Brush, Accent Brush, Fine Liner Brush and Brow Brush
PRICE: In Walmart where I got mine its around $18-$19 and that is no Tax,

Because I loved the travel brushes so much I decided to go back and get the other two collections. The starter set is all aimed for the eyes, I dont really use the Fine Liner Brush, or the Brow Brush so I cant really give any feedback on them, but the other three brushes I use quite a lot. The accent brush i use for when I do my crease. It's so small that it works so well for it. The base shadow brush is also good for blending out concealer.

Core Collection

Brushes in the Core: Contor Brush, Pointed foundation Brush, Detailer Brush, and Buffing brush
PRICE: In Walmart where I got mine its around $18-$19 and that is no Tax,

Out of these four brushes I use the Buffing brush the most, if I am honest it is my favorite and most used brush, The other three are used occasionally. What I will say is that the Pointed Foundation Brush (second one in) isn't as soft as the other brushes

Retractable Lip Brush

Price: $7.99

I came across this product by compete accident, I had missed the bus, and had half hour before it came back to where I was shopping, So I decided that I would have a look in Winners because sometimes they have really good deals, and I found it, I use it very rarely but it is a really nice brush when I do use it I really like it.  It is a very tiny brush, but it works really well

Miracle Complexion Sponge

Price: $7.99

I heard good things about the beauty blender, and there are a lot out there, and ranging in price, but when my local Walmart had more Real Techniques  brushes and this was one of them I must admit I was super happy, because I always wanted to try it and so I picked it up, and it is a good thing I did because it is really good. I had seen that you would have to make a beauty blender damp but this one it says on the packaging that you can use it either dry or damp

Stippling Brush

Price: $9.99

I prefer this stippling brush a lot more then the elf brush, Its a brush part is a lot softer. The brush does a better job then the elf brush. Again I found it at Walmart, and I was quite shocked because it took a while for other Real Techniques to come in to Walmart, and I was always checking. I love how light weight it is and how well foundation goes over my face.

And that's my brush collection, I'm sure that I will be adding to my collection, but at the moment I am really happy with the majority of my collection.
