My Favorite Beauty Products of 2015

Hey

and welcome back to my blog. I hope you all had an amazing Christmas, and have  a happy new year, how is it even New Years Eve already this is beyond crazy

So this Post will be on my favorite beauty products throughout 2015, so lets get started

Skin Care
My skin care routine had always been the same, but this year I had a few really bad breakouts, and I changed up my skin care routine.

I would take my makeup off with the Clean and Clear Facial Cleansing wipes, which took pretty much 99% of my makeup off. Even waterproof mascara.
I then use the Clean and Clear makeup dissolving foaming cleanser. Its oil free and when I wash my face using this it pretty much makes my face feel AMAZING. It gets right in to the pores, gets rid of any makeup that may have been left behind, and it is also a good product for cleaning my makeup brushes

To finish off my skin routine I use the Neutogena Healthy Skin Rejuvenator. It works the best product like this I have used and I have used two or three others. What I like about this product is that every time you buy the pad things you get a new head that it sticks to. On the box it says softer more luminous skin in just one use and it really dose work. I cant rave about this so much. My skin feels so healthy after using it

Foundations

For me this year I wanted to try new foundations, and I tried a lot of them, some were good, some were not so good. But the Maybeline Super stay Better Skin is really good. It goes on so smoothly. I am a big fan of foundations that have a pump, I find for me that I regulate how much I use. This foundation made my skin glow.

My all time favorite foundation for the last three years has been the Wake me Up Foundation, people everywhere were raving about this at the time, and it has since died down, but it is a firm favorite through out the year. The smell was the first thing that I noticed when I first picked it up, and they recently changed the formula and it doesn't have the same smell, but works just as well. Its the first one that I recommend to people.

Eye Products

The next 4 products are all Rimmel London products and a big staple in my everyday make up routine. The Mascara's are the best I have found in the last few years, they work amazingly well for me and I love how versatile they all are yet work wonders for my lashes. The Liquid liner looks nothing special but is the only one that I have found from any make up line, including other Rimmel liquid liner that works

Lips
I was never really a big fan of lipstick, and if I am honest would always be the one product that I would never put on to my face until the Kate Moss range from Rimmel, I prefer the Red packaging of the lipsticks especially shades 101-104, they have a beautiful finsih to them that complete any look.

Concealer

Cover Girls Ready Set Gorgeous is one of those products that I have a love hate relationship with but for the most part this year I have been loving it. I didn't like the foundation but found the concealer works better with other foundations

Setting Powder and Primer

The Stay Matte Setting Powder, and the Stay Matte Primer are the ones that I have been reaching for  a lot this year, I have gone through what seems like millions of them. I still have quite a few left of them as there was a sale on them, I have found they were the ones that suited my skin tone, made my make up stay on longer, and just over all look nicer

Brushes

This year I have used 3 brushes and a sponge religoulsy to apply my makeup and I couldnt be happier with the results. I always throught that brushed were a waste of time and money, until I used the Real Techniques. I would be lost without any of my Real Techniques brushes but these three were a god send to me this year.

The Multi Purpose one I use for my setting powder, and its brilliant for it. I love how big it is

The buffing brush is a god sent for me, I am not the best at applying my foundation - even though I have been wearing make up for over half my life - but the brush is great at just buffing out the imperfections.

I will start my whole foundation routine with the stippling brush or the sponge and I have had bad experiences with other brands of stippling brushes but I love Real Techniques stippling brush

If you could see my sponge right now its absolutely filthy because I use it so much, but I love it. I suggest it for anyone, and what is so good about this one is that you can use it dry or wet

Hair
My hair is the bane of my life, its fried from all the hair dying that I have done, and all the times I straighten it. These products have really made the whole difference in my routine

The heat protector is one of the best that I have found, most make my hair look really greasy even though I have just washed it and this the bom, and it smells Amazing Schwarzkopf Got2B Guardian Angel is the best

Marc Anthony Deep Conditioner has saved my hair this year and is really recomended, There are three of them. I use one once  a week and I always change it up, and my hair feels so nice, and it last longer then I ever thought they would, and longer then when I use regular conditioner

Well that's it for my favorites of 2015, I hope you all had an amazing New Years Eve, what ever you did, and that 2016 brings you all the joy and happiness that you all deserve

Common Q&A About Being English Living In Canada

Hey
and welcome back to my blog, What you may not know about me is that I am from England and I live in Canada, and the distance between where I lived in England to where I currently live is over 3700 miles, and I get a lot of questions about being English in Canada so I thought I would answer them in a post

What Accent Do You Have?

This maybe a wired question for a Blog post as you don't hear my voice but it is one of the most common questions I get asked when people hear me talk. I have an English Accent. A south English Accent, and every now and then I will say words that will sound a little more South West and other times it will sound a little more South East, which leads me in to my next question

Where Are You From In England
I was born in Somerset and lived there until I was 8, when I was 8 I moved to Hampshire until the weekend of my 14th birthday, around that time I moved to East Sussex where I lived until I was 19 and just over 2 weeks after my birthday i moved to Canada

Do You Know _____ They Are From ____
This question is really funny because for how small of a place England (with wales, Scotland and Ireland with it) it really isn't that big, and for such a small place there are a lot of people, I will very rarely know the person, a lot of people that ask me the question the place people will always ask if I know someone from Manchester which is about 4 hours away from where I lived
Crewkerne
Birth to 8

Do You Know One Direction
No.... I had moved to Canada 2 years before they were formed

Why Canada
Canada is such a beautiful contrary, we had been on vacation 2 or 3 times as a family, and then again over Christmas while my dad was over here, as my mum and I had to sell the house and work out our notice at our jobs, and each time we came we fell in love even more

Why To Chatham (The City I lived in for about 7.5 years)
Southampton
8-14
The short answer is my dad got a job in Chatham. He had 5 job interviews, and had to pick his top three and Chatham was one of them and the owner of the restaurant my dad worked at wanted my dad to work for him, and so that's why we chose Chatham

Do You Have Any Family Over Here
I have no family over here apart from my dad. I moved here with both parents but unfortunately my mum passed away

Do You Have Any Family In England

Most of my family still live in England. That's aunts, uncles, cousins and some extended family, and I do also have a second cousin - my dads cousin - who lives in Texas USA
I live in Bexhill
between the ages of 14-19

What Do You Miss about England
I would be lying if I said no. England is my home. When it comes down to sports I will always support the England teams. Its where I lived for 19 years of my life, its my home contary and I am very happy to be English. I miss so much stuff such as friends and family, and then there are smaller things are such as the Pubs, proper fish and chips, football, hanging out with friends.

So there we are, they are currentley the most common questons I have gotten since I have moved to Canada, and on Sunday 15th November (3 days) I can imagine I will get a lot more as I am moving

Random Favorites October 2015

Hey Guys

Hope you are all well. Today I am doing a random October favorites because I wanted to do a separate blog about the random things I have been loving. This month I have been packing my current apartment up as I move in the middle of November.

Blog

My favorite blog this month is Shull Family (Shull Family) Shay Shull is the author of the blog and has been doing it for absolutely forever, she has a mixture of posts  and they are all really enjoyable to read, I found her last month but this month I have been reading obsessively.  Her three children are adorable, and have such cute names as well, I suggest checking her out.

Books

This month I read three books,

The North American Front Cover..
The one I own

The first book that I read this month was Carrie Hope Fletcher's book All I Know Now, Its a spin of from her blog of the same name. I like watching Carrie's videos on her YouTube channel, and while I don't really read her blog I wanted to read her book. I enjoyed it but didn't love it. What I did like about it was that through out the book I could hear Carrie's voice as I read it. Maybe when I have a bit more time to read it I will re-read it just to see if my opinion changes

Looking for Alaska by John Green, so far it is my favorite John Green book. Looking for Alaska is about friendship, love, loss and boarding school. If you loved The Fault In Our Stars, youll love Looking For Alaska, its completly different. Its so beautifully written, John Green is AMAZING.

The final book I read this month was actually a re-read. Hate List by Jennifer Brown, when I first read it, I loved it. It is defiantly one of the top books that I have read this year. Both times it made me cry. Its one of those books that makes you stop and think. It deals with hard hitting subjects that you wouldn't normally deal with at high school.

Next month  I dout that I will be reading that many books I am moving dead in the middle of the month and I have packed most of my books away in boxes.

TV Shows

Now I own a TV but I don't have cable or satellite because I very rarly watch any TV shows on the TV only DVD's so I lent it to my dad as his is in storage while his house is being built and he is staying at his girlfriends house. I watch my TV shows on YouTube (If they aren't flagged or removed) and most of them are mainly English TV shows. You know the saying "You can take the girl out of England but not the England outta the girl" well that applys to me.

I have been loving Hollyoaks, what with the 20th anniversery week just happened, a new family arriving, extra murders to the glove hand killers long list, finding out who the glove hand killer is, baby going back and forward between parents, you name it, its happened, and I love it.

There is also a channel that has uploaded Hollyoaks episodes since december 2010 i think and I have been catching up with them

I have also loved Casualty, I have loved it for as long as I can remember, and the fact that someone has taken the time to upload it has made my life.

YouTuber

Channon Rose is a YouTuber that I started watching last year and I think that she is a different kind of YouTuber that I never really watched before, and I find that I am always watching her videos when they are in my subscription box. I got her book this year as well, and really enjoyed it, I suggest you read it as well, that girl has gone through a lot in her life. Check Channon's YouTube Here

Music

One of my favorite bands as a teen was Blazin Squad, I have been listening the Now or Never album, and been loving it

My favorite songs from the album are Flip Reverse, Thinking of you and We Just be Dreaming

So that's all my random favorites for October. Hope you all had a fantastic October. Leave a comment on what you enjoyed this month, and I hope to see you next month for more favorites

October 2015 Beauty Favorites

Hey

and welcome back to my blog, and another monthly favorites. How are we at the end of October already is beyond me. It means that its officially Fall and not long until I move.

Shall we get in to the favorites

Makeup

Maybelline Superstay Better Skin has been my go to foundation this month, and I love it, finding a foundation that lives up to the Wake Me Up Foundation has been hard, and this is right up there with it. It has such a beautiful finish to it when I apply it.

Kate Moss Masscara by Rimmel London has been a firm favorite this month, it defines my lashes so nicely. I love the brush and how it applies.

Lift Me Up by Rimmel is another firm favorite this month. It has a hint of cucumber in it but it isnt over powering. It also makes my lashes look amazing with out clumping

My favorite concealer this month has been the Ready Set Gorgeous by Cover Girl which surprised me because I find it works well with the foundation I have been using this month rather then the one that goes along with it. I find that using it this month it has blended in well with my foundation and is almost the perfect match to it

The Real Tequnies collection by Sam and Nic Chapman are my favorite brushes, I love them all, but this month I have been reaching for the Sponge. I love how it has different edges and I can use them all. Its great as well because you can use it dry or wet. Its super inexpensive, I think I got it for around $8 in Walmart

So that's it for my beauty products for this month, I will do a random favorites next.... See you then

Repurchase or Release: CONCEALERS

Hey

and welcome back to my blog, Today is the Concealers of my Repurchase or Release series, I am always on the hunt for a good concealer. I have sometimes found that some concealers that go along with a foundation - as in they have the same name but a foundation/concealer - haven't worked well with the foundation and vice versa

 Repurchase

Mayelline Instant Age Rewind is a fantastic concealer, It is one of the ones that shocked me and goes really well with the foundation. I love how it is so different then other concealers that are out there,

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer is another one that I found works with the older formula foundation. I haven't brought one in a while to try it out with the newer formula, but I would repurchase this. I love the texture of the concealer.
The price of this concealer is around the $9,99 mark

Another Mayelline concealer, this one is a new one that I recently got, and again it is one that I would go out and buy again. Its another one that comes along with a foundation, and if I am honest out of the three concealers that I would rebuy this one would be the one that I would go for first. It is a pricey at $10.99 but I really like it so far. Just a side note, The Better skin foundation isnt in my Foundation Repurchase or Release as that has been out a lot longer then I have had the foundation

Now on to Rimmel London with Hide The Blemish, It the concealer that I have been buying and using for years and years, in fact I think I have been buying and using it for over 10 years, and it is a staple in my makeup storage, and makeup bag. I have lots of them because they are really inexpensive and always have been. They are my favorite concealer ever

The Ready Set Gorgeous concealer is a lot better then the foundation. Like the maybelline concealers it has the texture that i really do like. I think this is the only cover girl product in recent years that I have gotten that I really like. I would  bu it again, but i don't reach for it as much as my other concealers

Just like in the Foundations I am adding another section in to this one that is of the Repurchase or Release that I am doing. This is the Love/Hate relationship section.

Rimmel Match Perfection, while I love Rimmel Products a lot, I find that the Match Perfection is a product that I really love and hate, I love that its different then most and some days I really enjoy the fact that it goes on and blends out really well and other days it seems like its dried up an doesn't want to work at all. And because its different then the others and in the squeezable tube the last bit to get out is always hard

Release

e.l.f Lifting Concealer is 100% one I would never buy again. I got the lightest one available and it is like the foundation far to dark for being the lightest shade, also there really wasn't that much variety in the shades, 3 to be exact. The only thing I did like about this concealer is the price. It is one of the cheapest concealer that I have got at $4 (I know in america its like a dollar, but here in Canada its $4). It is far to dark for my skin tone and really disappointing

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Spot, is one that i would release, for the fact that I  cant for the life of me remember how i liked it when i got it, and if I cant remember then it must not be that good

Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer, is awful. It doesn't match my skin tone, I have brought two or three different shades thinking each one would work because the last one hadn't, and non do, even with the foundation (which if you read my favorites you know I love). I did also have to buy one because other concealers that I like more then the wake me up were not in stock in my shade. I also found that the concealer isn't as smooth going on as the foundation. When wearing both the Wake me up foundation and concealer the concealer just seems really noticeable. I have also found that when I put it on my dark circles under my eyes, my skin goes really crusty and yucky

Thats it for this post, please leave a comment if you are enjoying this series of Repurchase or Release, my next one will be on Mascara's.

Love
Lauren xoxo

All pictures are from google or the product website, and i brought all products with my own money unless sated. Lxoxo

Thanksgiving 2015

Hey

and welcome back. Today in Canada is Thanksgiving, Canada's Thanksgiving is a month before the American one, which I think is great because you can stuff your face full of food and when you get over how much you have eaten it not long before Christmas.

This year just like last year I went to my dads girlfriends house, the only difference this year is my dad is now living there and its just a little over an hour away, so my dad being the most amazing man that he is, drove down the most boring road in all the world to pick me up. I wasn't staying the night, for 2 reasons, I have been ill the last week and I like my bed to much, and the fact that I have a cat that needs feeding in the morning. So around 7pm my dad drove me home.

Things I am Thankful For

The biggest thing I am thankful for is my dad. He is such an amazing person, not only did he by me my apartment 3 years ago when I moved out but he is going to be paying for my rent when I move to the same city, but he is the most inspiring man that I have ever known.

One of the things my dad wanted to do when we moved to Canada back in October 2007 (dad) and April 2008 (Mum and I) was to get a Harley Davidson motorbike, which he did, a 1996 Hunter Green Road King, and my goodness was it a really nice bike. We named it Harleene, In June 2009 my parents were involed in a road crash while out on Harleene, my mum passed away and my dad was in
My Dad
critical condition, it was so bad that his body went in to shock and he had two epileptic type seizures. One while in our local hospital and one while being airlifted to the hospital in London Ontario Canada, His body had so much trauma that it put him in to a coma. At aged 20 I had to listen to doctors tell me what damage was caused to my dad's body (pretty much every bone in his body) I had to sign forms so that they could do surgeries that lasted for hours on end, he had less then 30% of surviving.

But I knew he would, and 6 years later he is still here and he survived, It was one of the most difficult times of my entire life.

As a teenager my mum said the hardest time she went through was loosing her mum and grandma in the space of a year, and she didn't know how she ever coped through that time. I know how she felt, because November 2008 my granddad past away and even though I knew he was ill it was still a shock, then my mum died 7 months later, and then my gran on my dads side died about 13 months later, and I finally understood what she meant.

So I am thankful that my dad survived the accident.

I am also thankful that I live in amazing contrary like Canada. The fact that you can fit England in to Canada 40 times kinda still blows my mind away, and there is still room to spare. MIND BLOWN. I consider both England and Canada home. One of my favorite places in Canada is Niagara Falls, and if you ever get the chance to go there go. The first ever time that I went to Niagara Falls my mouth dropped and didn't shut until we left. Its about 3 hours away from where I currently live, but is without a doubt my favorite place in Canada

Hope you had a brilliant thanksgiving or Monday.

See you in my next blog
